Are you nauseous everyday? As it’s usually the Methotrexate that causes nausea.
At present yes. I take Methotrexate weekly on Mondays. Forgot to mention also because of Pred back on Metformin as diabetes flared up after I had it under control with diet.
It could well be the MXT
Were you nauseous before you started MXT?
I was OK for the first month then suddenly one evening at dinner on a Cruise they had a Special Menu, Master Chef Style & as l was reading it the wave of nausea was overwhelming.
After that I could not bear the smell of cooking & l virtually lived on cold chicken for a month, then as suddenly as it came it disappeared!
There are options, see your GP for an Antiemetic, change the time you take the MXT eventually l settled at 1.15pm after a light lunch or you can have it by Injection so it bypasses the gastric tract. Also, are you on daily Folic Acid except MXT day? As that helps will all side effects of MXT
I take the Methotrexate x6 once a werk on Mondays and a folic acid the day after
Do you have access to a Rheumatology Helpline ie Rheumy Nurses as they can advise & as you take other Medications it might be worth talking to your Pharmacist to find out the optimum times to take your Meds to help alleviate the nausea.
Let us know how you get on.
Kind Regards

Thanks for the help. I will let you know how I get on.
My guy likes the mtx dose split into 2, half in the evening and half next morning. He finds it reduces the nausea - and it was the one problem I didn't have.
