Oral thrush and RA meds
I take sulphasalazine and methotrexate for inflammatory arthritis. Condition is fairly well controlled but I have suffered with oral thrush and resulting very bad breath for over a month. I have been prescribed Nystatin and am on my second week of using this although the taste makes me gag. Any advice

Statin use and risk of PCa biochemical recurrence after radical prostatectomy.
New study below [1]. "In the largest reported surgical cohort to date, we investigated the effect of statin therapy on BCRF {biochemical recurrence free} and overall survival in patients with CaP who have undergone radical prostatectomy (RP)." "We performed a retrospective analysis of men (n = 3,088)

CoQ10 supplements?
Hi all I have been reading about CoQ10 supplements and wondered is anyone taking them? With being a type 1 diabetic, CAD and on statins and also having low energy levels I was thinking it would be a good idea, has anyone ever had any official professional opinions about supplements. I’m thinking for

Gastritis
Has anyone found that since having Lupus that they now have stomach problems. I first developed gastritis a few years ago when my GP gave me statins. Normally eat reasonably healthily but 2 weeks ago I shared the most delicious fish & chips with friends and have suffered badly ever since.

Has anyone who came off HRT noted notable increases in cholestrol and, if so, did it subsequently fall once the body becomes used to its new female hormone level? How long to lower your cholesterol
My cholesterol has been bubbling round the high for a few years now, high bad neutralised by high good. Recent tests say the both have gone the wrong way. I exercise a lot and take no meds and trying to keep it that way for as long as possible. If I make a serious effort to turn this around, lower

We are cured, again (again)
It was on the website, myelin.org (now defunct), that I first learned about Sobetrirome and it's role in upregulating ABCD2. I believe myelin.org was run by Lorenzo Odone's parents. It was there that I first read about Ampyra as well. But, I digress. It was originally envisaged that sobetirome

Spot on penis glans
This spot appeared one the glans of my penis a few months ago. It was way worse before and it has gradually cleared up. I have spent hundreds of dollars at dermatologists. First appointment, the dermatologist told me it was a fungal infection. I was prescribed Nystatin cream and it didn’t really help

So today i had a telephone consultation with my GP, regarding my thyroid function and cholesterol blood test results. I had already been told to reduce my thyroxine from 125 to 100mg. GP seemed more concerned about my cholesterol 6.6. I was aked why my cholesterol may have gone up . Granted over many

Timing of various medications? What do most of you do?
I've just read a 2013 article in AARP's "The Daily" regarding when to take various medications (https://www.aarp.org/health/drugs-supplements/info-12-2013/timing-of-daily-medications). Cancer drugs are not mentioned except to suggest that certain cancer cells may be more vulnerable when other cells

Levothyroxine intolerance
I have felt dreadfully ill ever since I started taking Levothyroxine when I became hypothyroid in October 18 following RAI treatment in June 18. I was suffering side-effects from the carbimazole and was told that it was easier to treat an under-active thyroid than an overactive one. The deterioration

I am 56 with ectopics, aorta regurgitation & aorta dilatation and lupus. My cholesterol has come back at 5:2. Not sure whether to start statins - GP says it’s up to me at this stage. Just would welcome any views. Thank you.
