Numbness in left hand fingers

Hi

Can anyone give me some advise.

My index finger and middle finger on my left hand have started to go numb, loss of sensation is maybe a better way of describing it.

I do suffer from reynauds but this doesn't seem the same.

It started about 2 weeks ago on the tip of my index finger and seems to be spreading.

I had pins and needles in my whole hand for hours this morning but now settled.

Just dont know whether I should concerned of it's just another side effect.

The only new meds I have started recently are statins...

Any advice gratefully received

X

A new symptom and especially numbness should be mentioned to your physician but it sounds like carpal tunnel perhaps. A neurological visit would be helpful for diagnosis.

Hi MOOG144,

I experienced the same symptoms nearly 2 years ago and thought I'd just badly banged my elbow (which I did) and this was just a side effect, was sent straight to the neurologist who done some tests and everything came back fine except they found I had a vitamin B12 deficiency. All symptoms went away and after I started feeling unwell about a year ago I found myself back at the hospital where I was told my lupus had relapsed and once my consultant looked at the notes from the hospital and i explained the symptoms again he said I had Antiphosphlipid Syndrome(APS), which was unusual as you normally either get bothered with lupus and APS separately but in my case I had both active at the same time. Hope this helps a little.

It looks like peripheral neuropathy
