Best time to take Prednisolone to lessen Nausea
Im getting a lot of Nausea but taking Methotrexate as well as Prednisolone Omeprazole and Statins. Is there a better time to take the steroids rather than early mornings. On 15mg Prednisolone at present reducing gradually.

Books about Drug-Free Alternatives to Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease
Hi all - does anyone go along with the notions in books like this? The idea that low cholesterol and statins are not the answer to blocked arteries? Heart Disease: Drug-Free Alternatives to Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease (What Doctors Don't Tell You) by Lynne McTaggart

Maybe Gastritis?
About 7 months ago after a recent trip to the USA I had a bad bout of Gastroenteritis. A week or so afterwards I started to get bloating symptoms after eating. I also started taking Statins at this point due to high cholesterol. I went to see GP who tested me for H.pylori bacteria which came back negative

High cholesterol despite other positives
So I reversed my type 2 diabetes ..HbA1c now 41 from 70, I lost 2 stone in weight and am no longer overweight, liver function tests all back to normal and I exercise REGULARLY.. And yet my cholesterol is still 8 (HDL 1.6 and ratio 5) So am not happy.. The diabetic nurse urged me to go back on statins

CAN STATINS CAUSE THYROID PROBLEMS?
Hi All I posted here 3 weeks ago that a short 12 week course of statins from Jan 17 ending in April 17 gave me muscle problems. I have had very many investigations (biopsy, Mri, Emg, CK bloods) and all have been 'normal' However, the muscle problems have not only persisted but progressed. The rheumatologist

Protein in urine
For about a year i've been taking 1x10 mg/day Crestor(Rosuvastatin) to treat high cholesterol levels without any major side-effects.A few weeks ago after a routine urine test my protein levels in urine showed (++) so i decided to dig a little deeper and went ahead to do a 24h urine test. The test came

Trimetazidine
Hi all - had two stents fitted in one artery three days ago. I've posted a couple of times already. Had this procedure in what is regarded as the best heart hospital in China - Zhongshan Hospital Shanghai, linked to Fudan University. They have sent me home with the usual drugs of Clopidogrel and aspirin

Can Plant Sterols/ Stanols trigger epilepsy? (The daily consume cholesterol lowering yogurt drinks..)
Hi I’m 57 years old, non smoker, quite fit and strong – I visit the gym several times a week for past 30 years, healthy lifestyle, good diet, moderate alcohol consumption. 3 ½ years ago my doctor checked cholesterol test and said I was getting a bit high at 6.5 and I might “have to go on Statins”.

Are vitamins hurtful to the liver?
Hi all, I wanted to ask if any of you know if taking a woman's daily multivitamin and a separate vitamin C with D supplement plus a calcium supplement hurtful for the liver? I'm perimenopausal and was told I should take these things by a doctor that does not know ..at the time...that I had fatty liver

Abnormal liver function & statins
I am 9 weeks post HA & have had 2 consecutive blood tests showing significantly abnormal liver function, assumed to be caused by statins. I took a week off them & my GP reduced dose of atorvastatin from 80 mg to 20 mg but still abnormal & told by cardiac rehab to stop altogether pending further blood

Statins + Dipyridamole?
New cell study below [1]. Bottom-line: PCa resistance to statins can be blocked by Dipyridamole. Might be an important finding. Dipyridamole "is a medication that inhibits blood clot formation" [2]. (which in itself is useful for PCa) {[i]"Dipyridamole is used to dilate blood vessels in people with

Can heart meds cause kidney stones?
Woke up with lower back ache and what felt like uncomfortably full bladder. Escalated to 45’minutes of horrible back / stomach pain. Just subsiding now. Symptoms suggest an infection or kidney stones. I wondered if it could be bought on by my meds - statins, beta blockers etc. Anyone heard this

Cholesterol after statins 2.4
I was 6.3 when diagnosed with Angina (95% LAD block). Two stents inserted and medication. Hoping to get off the Beta Blockers as my hands are always freezing. I’ve cut out the really bad foods (daily biscuits / milk chocolate / McDonalds / fry ups) and dropped 12lbs (not the intent)’to 9stone 10lbs

I had two heart attacks several years ago, one caused by Cholesterol plaques and the other by Vasospasm. Because of my family history and my own high Cholesterol and high Triglyceride issues it was assumed that I had Familial hypercholesterolemia. I have been seeing a Consultant specialising in Cholesterol

I saw the Clinical Pharmacist today after a routine blood test ( I had also requested one) and I am "trialling" being off statins. @MikePollard: how will my diet affect the fasting blood test in a few months time See: https://healthunlocked.com/nhsweightloss/posts/private/140500308/am-i-eating-enough-calories
