About 6 weeks ago i noticed a red rash on the penis head. No itch just red spots. Went to a doctor and was told I have a yeast infection. Took std tests as well and they came back negative. Was prescribed ketaconazole cream which i used for 2 weeks. No results so was switched to nystatin cream. Still no results after 2 weeks and was given a floconozole tab and hydrocortisine to use. A week later no change and was finally given mupirocin cream and was told to see a urologist if it didnt help.
Went to see a urologist and was told same its yeast and its not too bad. Stop using all creams and dont use soap and blow dry after shower. Was also told circumcision is an option as well if i want and mostly people do it when its severe and mine wasnt so choice was upto me.
I really want to avoid circumcision but nothing I have tried seem to work and urologist did not prescribe anything else. Any recommendations? Would seeing a dermatologist maybe help? Thanks.

Just to point out the salt is used with a water mix !
This is a job is for urologist 100% . Seems like a recurring rash that won’t go away .
First of all stop taking medications for months for something you don’t have .
Second stop applying creams and azoles for yeast infections that you don’t have.
The creams that you used with time thin the skin down there so on the long run you end up with making it even more sensitive .
If i was you i would choose circumcision instead of putting creams for years before i get the right treatment .
These natural remedies take a very very long time to work and i don’t think you have the patience to keep doing that in the blind .
I had the exact same issue , everything negative , i went trough cauterization of the area first , nothing , before that lots of treatments antibiotics and creams , i got tired , cut the foreskin off and i’m done with that problem .
Thanks. If im taking the wrong thing then how can i find out what i really have and treat it properly? I get what you are saying but I would like to keep circumcision as the last resort. Are there are types of tests that can be done to find the real issue and then treat that properly?
First of all you need to properly diagnose what you have .
You where given yeast treatments but you did not have the main thing which is burning sensation and itching . Yeast cannot be just red spots and that’s it .
Are they strictly just red spots with nothing else happening , any sexual intercourse in the last 3 - 6 months , and if yes what kind of sex and with who , women / men or both .
Its just red and sometimes gets inflammed and bumpy. No pain or discharge or really itch. It itches at times when i pee and some gets on it but thats about it. When erect it seems a lot more red and bumpish. Neither the doctor or urologist i think took any tests, just my description and visual inspection. The doctor did take blood and urine for general check and std ( i was in the doctor for another reason as well) but prescribed the yeast stuff before any results came back. Was told std test was negative.
Sexual intercourse only once last 6 months with a woman and wore protection.
So usually urologist does :
Ghon , Syphilis , HIV , HSV-2 ( Genital Herpes ) , HPV , if suspected balanitis there’s a test called balano preputial test .
I dont think any. They took a urine sample when i got in and a blabber imaging. Their site has the report and nothing looks like it says positive. They havnt called me either. For some reason it didnt occur to me at the time of appointment to ask for test to verify either, i was just taking their word for it.
I have had similar symptoms and tests, all negative. What is the balano preputial test? Not sure if Ive had that and I cant find it on the net?
Help much appreciated.

Mate don’t take their word for it , do the stds i told you about , given the time i suspect HSV2 that lingers for months if untreated . Do the tests man without their opinion and tell me what you did, stop doing treatments by ear or by visual diagnosis only , you can end up having something else from improper treatment too.
Yeah. I am going back to the doctors this week and will ask for tests. The doctor I know took std tests, im just not sure what was all included within that test. After they got the results they told me everything looked ok. I'll ask for what exact they tested for. Also will ask doctor if there is any specific test they can do because im beginning to think its not just yeast.
Just go there and do the ones i told you , thats all the tests u need
Some mixed advice hear. Definitely no soap, plain or salt water to clean, air or pat dry. Canestan is a good treatment for yeast infections. Cream or tablets are available.
If you can try all treatments before resorting to Surgery.
Hey did you ever figure this out? I'm in the same boat... Ketocomazole... Nystatin... neither worked much. It's a little better but not back to normal. On clotrimazole and it's not working much either. Not sure what to do.
An update. After trying many things was told I’d be stuck with this. But after a few months it just went away on its own even after I stopped using everything I was told to apply.
