What if any treatment do you get?
I was diagnosed with FM 10 years ago by the rheumatologist after the diagnosis he referred me to pain therapy - a 12 week course on coping, given a heap of meds, he also referred to physio who wouldn't do anything because of my pain levels I saw him one more time after this and he sent on my way, leaving

b210k week 1 run 1
I graduated last April, had 5 weeks off in the summer because of an
injury
and slowly built my time
back
up to 30+ minutes but I wasn't pushing myself any harder. This year I have signed up for a 10k run in April so having been inspired by some posts on here I decided to attempt the b210k.

Avoiding injury
In order to avoid
injury
, you need to hold
back
from running too much at first even if you feel ready to go further and faster. In particular, it is a good idea to start off with a month of brisk walking, rather than running.

How glorious the sun has just come up and the sky is turning a marvelous apricotey pinky colour,
that is the front of the house. At the back it is still solid grey and not as inviting. I am about to get ready and take OH out for breakfast after all it is the most important meal of the day it gives you energy (so they say) who are they? I must admitt it rarely works for me - but I do like

indecisiveness
hi, it's good to be babk on here, on 2 counts. I have been so low & tearful for ages so I couldn't cope with this beast (computer) but also I've been trying to persuade this machine that it wanted to connect to, well anything really. Apparently my signal strength is excellent but it wouldn't connect

Side effects of drugs
Has anyone experienced the compulsive behaviour side effects of taking Mirapexin? My husband has been taking it together with co-beneldopa for over a year but has recently started to exhibit unusual sexual behaviour which he says he cannot help. This is causing problems with him removing his incontinence

5K race around Top Gear track.
I hadn't got to run during the week, and haven't run more than 30 minutes since my
injury
back
in the Summer, but I felt in good shape when we set off and I throughly enjoyed it.

Getting back out there after injury
I'm writing this because I know it will make me get back out to run later today. It's daunting restarting when you've had an injury. I know because I've done it once already. Earlier this year I had to take a break for 3 months - then started again from scratch. I got to the end of week 6 with many

No interest in my job anymore and my health has gotten worse, along with my financial situation
I believe my job has made me sick and having an
injury
didn't exactly help the situation
back
in 2008. I know I should have been out of there years ago, but the money kept me there.

I havent been on here for a while because I forgot my password! I was diagnosed with appendix cancer and pseudomyxoma peritonei in June after a laparotomy and I thought I would update everyone about what has happened since then. Im back at work although Ive had more sick days than I would normally have

Day 3 & 4
Just updating my blog on the Physiotherapy, Hydrotherapy and Occupational Therapy that I have been taking part in. Days 3 & 4 have been much less painful for me and I'm really enjoying myself. I have started making my woven stool in OT and I'm very proud of it. It's held on a high rack, which help

Therapy Update
I am keeping a little diary here about my Advanced Rehabilitation Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy. I attended twice in a week. If you are interested, you can read my other blog posts. I hope that this blog will answer questions of those who are thinking about this treatment, and although there are tough

Unable to run for 4 weeks due to Tendonitis and calf injury but hopefully back on it this week :-) Fingers Crossed!!!!!!
Well my last run other than Sunday was about 3 - 4 weeks ago and prior to that was about 1 - 2 per week due to the pain in my left leg calf on the outside above my ankle (Tendonitis), also where the Achiles joins the calf muscle. I decided about 4 weeks ago to completely not run, much to my dismay just

Gait analysis and treadmills
I resisted the urge to advise the shop employees to stand
back
to lower the risk of
injury
due to the fact that I wasn't wearing a sports bra and they were likely to suffer concussion if they stood too close. Running in a skirt was also an odd experience.

Does anyone have a balance problem?
Hi everyone When I stand up right if I lean slightly forward I can stay standing but if I stand completly up right I fall backwads. ( ie when I stand up from the loo usually ) I fell last night at the bottom of our stairs. I was just standing waiting for my chair to come down when as if in slow motion
