iodene in medical dressing
I apologise if this has aleady been sent but can't find it anywhere. I broke my toe last week and the wound is covered by a dressing containg large amounts of iodine. I am hypo on 50/75 levo per day. I wondered if it will have any affect as I will need to have this dressing for the next 4/6 weeks.

Tightening of scars, uctd? What the heck?
Two years ago the skin split and opened and
wounds
wouldn't heal... Is that due to a lupus flare you think? I mean the not healing. The split came from tig ht skin. Course I didn't know I had lupus or whatever then. They gave me tons of antibiotics for a year and I got REALLY sick.

Infection after surgery, feeling very weird?
I've kept the
wounds
dry after showering, but still I got an infection. I'm feeling run down, swollen glands and lymph nodes, headaches and no energy, huge dark circles under my eyes. I've been sleeping badly and having nightmares since getting the infection.

Simultaneous delivery of highly diverse bioactive compounds from blend electrospun fibers for skin wound healing
Fascinating that the researchers here even thought to use vitamin C, vitamin D3, hydrocortisone and, wait for it, T3, to produce fibres that can be used for wound healing. Starts to read as if they have been reading here on HU TUK! :-) Where else do you see that selection being discussed, albeit not

Any of you have thin fragile skin from steroids and/or blood thinners?
When I get
wounds
on my legs, they typically take many months to heal and require torturous wound care procedures. During those months I will suffer from horrendous pain and numerous cellulitis infections as well.

Returning from breast cancer - advice needed
I graduated a few months ago and almost straight away found that I had breast cancer, as a result of which I had a mastectomy and DIEP reconstruction which means I have abdominal as well as chest
wounds
. I am now counting down the days until I can start running again (21 days from today).

Shower/bath
My plan is to dry the
wounds
with the hairdryer on a low setting, as suggested by the nurse and then redress them. Am I ok to use soap/shower gel etc? Seems a rediculous dilemma but i'm really not sure what to do! TIA X

Manuka Honey Cream
I have been to see a Nurse Practitioner - but all she says is that the skin can get thinner with steroids and to just put a plaster over the
wounds
- if I do that my arm is going to be covered with plasters.
