7 weeks after vats op still in pain on left side where chest drain was put in struggle to cough to get nasty stuff off chest

A VATS is a Video Assisted Thoracoscopy as far as I know.

Hi migrtgem Sorry to hear your still in pain after your vat op I had my vats biopsy to remove top +middle right lobes from my lung 3 weeks ago and just getting better still getting pain I know just what you mean by pain from chest drain the hospital gave me carbocisteine capsules to help with cough have you been given anything to help

Yeah i got sum capsules dont know if they helping i had phnumonia a week after op back in hosp for a week since iv been home iv had two sputum test that come back with "a bug" growing so more antibiotics i wake up feeling nauseas tummy ache and that really bad pain under my left bust sleep pattern is all over iv never felt so ill

i had a chest drain in, in january woud have been happy to slap doctor every time he asked me to cough not pleasant. i still get a little pain sometimes if i cough but the pain does go away. i thought i was odd because i didnt think the pain from the chest drain should be this bad morfin (cant spell) didnt seem to work it took nearly two months to settle down but fine now xx

Im going into my two month since op and i feel iv got worse this last two weeks stomach ache feeling sick pain is really bad under left bust surgeon says im behind my recovery because i got phnumonia a week after op so to be patient 😣thanks for your reply x
