I'm sorry to hear of your husband's diagnosis, I didn't know that men could also be affected by this disease. I can't help through personal experience, but if you go to the cancer services section of the MacMillan website, they can give advice and information specifically aimed at men. Do resist the temptation to "Google" as often it causes more problems than it solves. You could also discuss any issues and concerns with your husband's Oncologist or Specialist Nurse, or continue to use this site - there is a huge amount and knowledge and support as we all know how it feels to be in this position.

Hoping that tests and treatment goes well for hubby.

Hello there .. I did know that men can have PPC, an Ovarian variant. Doctors suspect that both my paternal uncle and grandfather had it too. I'm very sorry about your news. I'm sure you're very welcome here xxx

What did your husband do for a living? Did he ever work with asbestos?

Interesting. A friend of a friend's husband had P.P.C. He worked as technician in schools. There have been a number of cases recently of teachers with mesothelioma.

So sorry to hear your news, Kohsamui. Fingers crossed The Christie will be able to help.

Yes I did know it was possible for men to get ppc. I understand it is quite rare though. Wishing him and you a positive outcome. My thoughts are with you. I have ppc too so happy to share own experience but do not know how similar symptoms treatment will be. You will both get lots of support from here. Good Luck JacJac x

Hi Kohsamui. One of the first things I learned when I was diagnosed with PPC was that men can also get it although it's rare. This forum is very helpful as the disease has similar symptoms to Ovarian cancer and usually the same treatment. I wish your husband all the best for a good outcome .
