Third week post op laparoscopy
When water is on my
wounds
it stings, the nurse didn't give any information of how to take care of my
wounds
and when it's ok to wash my
wounds
. Also will the bruises on my stomach fade away?

When to change dressing?
I have 4
wounds
and just wondering when I should change the dressings? Can't believe the nurse never advised me. I was too tired and in pain to remember to ask.

post-op incisions
Hi everyone, I had surgery (ovarian cystectomy & excision of endometriosis) on 18/02/24 One of my
wounds
seems to be open. I feel ‘fobbed off’ by doctors who state it will close on its own. Did anyone else’s incisions look like this? Did they heal okay?

Should I remove the bandages from my incisions for good?
Mine are closed I think since there is no red tissue or open
wounds
just some scars like you have when your wound is healing. I still keep them covered with waterproof bandages as i do not want to get them wet when showering.

Stitches and wounds
Hello everyone, sorry again for one more post (12 days post op) Swelling on the head has reduced, movement is less restrictive and I feel better than when the process first began. Night erections are now uncomfortable but don't exactly hurt. Some of the stitches unfortunately got pulled out of

Leg wounds
Does anyone have any advice on leg
wounds
? I am 83 years old and I had one on my lower left leg a couple of years ago which took 5 months to heal. I now have another, smaller one, on the inside of my left knee which is also taking a long time to heal - 3 months so far.

Deep Brain Stimulator
I know this is way out of this forum, but I can't find a group to discuss with. I had a deep brain stimulator surgical procedure to help with an Essential Tremor in my hand. I had my dominate hand done 11 yrs ago at a different hospital. Had no issues with the results. At the end of May I had my other

Can't believe my sister would do this....
Hi all. My husband and I began moving out of my sister's house last Saturday, July 6, 2024, and started moving into our new place to begin a new chapter in our lives. I also start a new job this Monday too, so lots of positive changes for me. Well we moved all day both Saturday and Sunday and come Monday

serotonin syndrome
I have a mild case of serotin syndrome… done stuff I shouldn’t have but anxiety and depression is creeping back up on me…. The issue is I’m not sure if I’m really disappointed in people or if the syndrome talking … there times where it just easier to get lost in my made up reality then live in funk

I hate myself
I don't want to feel anymore. Everything is too much. I want to sleep and never wake up. I feel so unheard and alone and pathetic and ugly and useless. I hate how much control I let people have over me. When the anxiety goes away and the anger pours back in I want to destroy everyone that's hurt me.

Abilify
Hi Everyone.....I have severe anxiety and depression (at least that the diagnosis we're going with now) and I'm taking 450 mg. of Wellbutrin. I shake almost all the time, more so when I'm stressed. My psychiatrist had me add 5 mg. of Abilify a few weeks ago. He just increased the Abilify to 10 mg.

Wounds
like a burn and a scratch are taking ages to heal. I am older, 66, and I know this can happen. Any suggestions for tests I could ask for and is there any point asking for them. Best wishes Fiona

The honey bee
I have been looking at the delightful picture of the Italian honey bee with pollen on its legs. What I am puzzled about is on the right. I cannot make out what it is hovering over. Can someone enlighten me? Years ago my father used to keep bees and I used to watch him and also help put the honey in

Hay fever medicines
I continue to have badly blocked ears and a runny nose for several weeks. I’ve only managed to see paramedics rather than a GP about it. I haven’t used any nasal sprays (other than saline) but would like to try anti-allergy medication such as antihistamine. Yet I’ve read that “A few common stimulating

Calcium Citrate questions
I’ve been taking Calcium Carbonate on and off for over 5 years but my stomach really doesn’t like it. It makes me gassy and and causes me to have stomach ache. I have read that Calcium Citrate is more gentle on the stomach so I am trying to find what the equivalent calcium citrate is to calcium carbonate

Doxycycline - A Warning For Diabetics
Anyway recently I was prescribed the antibiotic Doxycycline for the macerated
wounds
(caused by Co-Vee-ID Toe) on my remaining foot. It turns out that this makes the body's response to insulin erratic. One day I can be struggling with hypos and the next hypers.
