I apologise if this has aleady been sent but can't find it anywhere. I broke my toe last week and the wound is covered by a dressing containg large amounts of iodine. I am hypo on 50/75 levo per day. I wondered if it will have any affect as I will need to have this dressing for the next 4/6 weeks. Thanks. Jax

Iodine can only benefit your hypothyroid function. You should read the book of dr. David Brownstein: 'Iodine, why you need it, why you can't live without it' ;)

I find this iodine issue very confusing as some medical experts consider it to be bad for hypothyrodism and my niece ,who I suspect has Hashimoto's thyroiditis, is very seriously allergic to iodine. She has been rushed to hospital twice recently which hyper. attacks with almost undetectable TSH level although she has been borderline high for several years. Thanks very much for your help. Regards, Jax
