What does this test involve?
Hi there, Has anyone had their 'anterior pituitary function' tested? I've got to spend a full morning in hospital on Friday having the test done and it sounds pretty comprehensive! Endo says he will be checking my GnRH, TRH, Short Synacthen. Does anyone know what kind of diagnoses or indications these

Bloating with lupus
I was wondering if I could be taking
water

pills to help with the bloating. Because I'm currently on 60 mg of prednisone and the bloating is so bad it's hard to breathe. My back is also in incredible amounts of pain.

One thing I am struggling with is the fact that in the the four weeks I've gained four pounds, I know that this is probably

in the muscle but it is disheartening all the same. hopefully I will start to return to normal once my body gets used to this new regime.

Tapentadol - Yikes, scary! Anyone else taking it?
I've been to the pain clinic for the first time today and the Dr I was was excellent. Asks lots of questions, was very understanding and gave me a lot of information. He believes my pain to be Neuropathic in origin and has prescribed me Tapentadol. It is a controlled drug and I had to show ID and sign

Motor tics in a 9 year old
Hi I am hoping someone can offer some advice. My son is 9 and a half now and has suffered from motor tics pretty constantly since he was 5. He only has simple tics and no vocal tics and no ADHD or OCD. They are hard to watch though as they usually centre around his face mainly the eyes. I thought he

Scalloped tongue
I have read that this can mean sleep apnea, spleen, grinding teeth, excess fluid,
water
retention
, or quite simply low thyroid. I do not feel better with Meds, and the scalloped tongue is not getting better. Would be grateful for any feedback. Many thanks. Marmaris.

swollen feet
The problem is my feet and ankles are now swollen, yet I never had swollen feet or ankles BEFORE going on the
water
tablets. I'm wondering if this
water
retention
will affect my kidney's? I have only been off the tablets for a week. Has anyone else had this problem with water tablets.

Letter to nowhere
In June, after learning that the commissioner of the FDA has the authority to exempt a medication from prescription-dispensing requirements, I wrote a letter to the FDA asking for injectable B12 to be made available without a prescription. Last week I got a (mildly disappointing) response that reads
