Test Results
Hi Everyone I would be grateful for any comments about my recent test results. I’m confused. Briefly I have been hypothyroid for 17 years, I was on Levo but for the last 10 years I have been taking NDT which has been great. I’ve received a text saying I must see the doctor, they say I’m over

Glaucoma eye drops and migraines
I am waiting for an appointment at eye hospital because spec savers say my pressure is too high. My eyes appeared healthy from the OTC scan and blood vessels ok. Sight not deteriorating. I suffer badly from migraines and wondered if anyone on the forum uses eye drops that don’t cause headaches or make

5mg lifelong dose of pred
My mum has been on pred for PMR (with two occurrences of GCA 5 yrs apart) for about 40 years. She had a break of 2 years in remission after being on pred for 3 years. Then it all started again and since then has never been able to go completely off the steroids. From her second start about 30 years

Hot flashes?
Am having ever more hot flashes and sweating around my neck over last several months. Could it be the steroids? In the distant past, was relying on welbutrin for depression but got hot flashes and changed to escatolepram. In the last few years I started taking a small dose of welbutrin in addition

Can you 'demand' Tocilizumab for GCA?
I was diagnosed with PMR in January 23, responded well to steroids (15mg) but quickly developed GCA symptoms (severe headache pain, blurred vision and jaw claudication) when these were reduced to 12.5mg after 3 weeks and 'normal' CRP/ESR tests. I was referred to Ambulatory care but an ultrasound showed

So I'm trying to find ways to get motivated to exercise. I want to lose weight in preparation for a transplant. I have no donor yet, but I was told I would gain weight from steroids taken after your transplant. Can anyone give more insight on that? I at least want to try. I'm on my second week of clean

Body Shutdown
I've had two occasions this month where my body has been none responsive! The first one was me climbing some stairs to get to the bathroom at my friend's apartment on 4/3. As I went up step by step I started to feel weird. As I walk through the apartment with a cane, I notice my balance was more off

Wrong diagnosis
Hi everyone, I don't post very much, a bit of a lurker but I will be leaving the group anyway but thought I would share my recent update. Three years ago after raised infection markers at my previous doctors I was diagnosed with PMR and put on 40mg steroids, tapering dose. I was not referred to see

Prednisolone and diarrhoea
Been on steroids for suspected GCA not quite three weeks now - went down from 50 mg to 40mg after first week. Not generally feeling too bad though not as bright as I was in the first few days of steroid honeymoon. Am having some issues with loose and sudden stools which initially I thought were an antibiotic

almost 200 days post SCT update
Spurred on by Jennie’s update earlier, I thought it was high time that I wrote an update on my progress. I’m almost at 200 days post transplant. I’ve hardly had any issues so far other than my Hb count has sat quite stubbornly at or around 80 for the past couple of months. This has resulted in a good
