Could my new statins have upset the Apple cart?
I can see that this subject has been raised before but I’m feeling sorry for myself today and need the support of my forum friends and advisors. Just for a quick bit of background, I am six years into this PMR and struggling to taper below 7mg, maintaining 6.5mg but experiencing a lot of pain in my

Hydroxychloroquine for FET?? Any experiences??
Hi all, I've just completed 2 courses of Humira/Adalimumab to try to bring down my cytokines, but unfortunately it didn't work and they went higher (46). I have one good quality day 3 embryo on ice from 5 years ago when i was 37. I won't be getting any more as I'm in full menopause now. I'm finally

Itchy knots under skin
I've been experiencing painful, itchy knots on my arms and legs that turn to blisters. Even worse when I scratch them. It's the same experience I have when I get mosquito bites, but I have not been exposed to any insects or allergens. Anyone else ever have this problem? My doctor just gave me a steroid

Learning about GCA
I have been on steroids since February for PRM, properly unwell for quite a while before that. Over the weekend I had a period of very disturbed vision with headache and jaw pain. Now increased from 10mg to 60mg prednisone. Eye check isn’t showing any long term damage and I have a plan going forward

steroid withdrawal
Hi fellow lungies I have posted before on the British Lung Website years ago about the steroids. This is the first time on this new sight. I have COPD and Bronchiectasis. I have been poorly with a chest infection or exacerbation since Feb 12th. It all started with a cold and after fighting it off

PMR mentioned on TV
Hi. I was flicking channels last night and clicked onto "doctors behind closed doors". A mentally sharp 91 year old lady was describing pains in her arms which prevented her moving them above a certain point. The nurse or doctor said there is something called Polymyalgia we can do some tests to see

Bruising like crazy.
Has anyone experienced frequent and easy bruising from being on steroids? My lower legs, esp my right leg, are covered with small and one a bit larger bruises. They are not painful and seem to pop up out of nowhere. Can it be the diabetes 2? Boy are they unsightful, along with my two knee surgery

Steroids and weak bones
Do any of you have osteoporosis due to steriods?Started dupilimab in January - it works well enough to get me off prednisolone ( it has unpleasant side effects - it plays hell with my sinuses - sneezing coughing and headaches). I have asked for a dexa scan as it is around five years since my last and

Brain shrinking
My husband has had encephalitis for 16 months now and no treatment has worked so far. He has had steroids, IVIG, plasma exchange and rituximab and hes been deteriorating since the day he was diagnosed. Doctors have now said his brain is shrinking but I have not heard this from anyone else with encephalitis

Feeling despondent
Hi I last posted when I was waiting for my first biologic Imraldi which turned out to be Hyrimoz another bio similar. Before getting my first biologic injection on 7th June, rheumatology did in fact give me another steroid injection 80mg in the bum 19 days previously ! That eased thing’s slightly

predetermined!
I thought my appointment would be with a rheumatologist consultant but it was the final 4pm slot last Thursday (ie day before bank holiday) and the staff on duty looked far from enthusiastic to see me. I started to doubt it would go well when I saw quite a few urine samples including mine chucked

mistake with steroids
After recent ups and downs I was taking 15mg per day but I have not been feeling at all well for the past few days. My head has felt peculiar and I have been feeling disorientated. This morning when I was about to take my medication I noticed that I did not have any more 5mg tablets left and I'm pretty

spring Covid vaccine
I’ve had all the necessary covid vaccinations but had my 2nd covid infection during the first week in March. I see in the news that the spring covid vaccine is available for those on steroids. I’m currently on 13mg of pred having started on 15mg in February. Is it likely that I will be asked to get

Evenity Treatment for Osteoporosis
Hi, thank you to the moderators, DorsetLady and PMRpro for their advice about reposting. I have been given the opportunity to use Evenity (romosozumab) Injection, which has been offered to me as I have severe Osteoporosis due to being on Steroids for PMR. I will be receiving my first set of medication
