‼️ Anaphylaxis ‼️

Having suffered Anaphylaxis following a Depo-medrone Steroid injection whilst in the consulting room at my Rheumatology Hospital, this article on BBC news today caught my eye. I have SLE.

It mentions Contrast Dye used in scans & having seen recent posts on this forum from others having scans, I thought I’d share it. Having recently had another CT scan + Contrast Dye, I thought it wise to explain my previous issues with certain meds to the Radiographer.

Also, many of us take such a cocktail of drugs, we never know, particularly when starting a new/different one, how it/they will affect us. (I’ve had so many adverse/allergic reactions to various meds! So remain vigilant by informing any medical professionals - I am my own Dr! 😂).

(Hope the link works).

Thanks Turquoise 🤔🌸

Think there is a research gap.

I have had bad reactions to so many things in the last few years. Nothing used to be an issue until then.

I have posted another on the theme.

Hi StriatedCaracara

I’m guessing there must be some research somewhere for such an article to be reported on by the BBC; They must’ve got that information from a reliable source.

I’ll take a look at your post too, thanks! 🙂🌼🤓

Yes I posted it on ST. I had reaction to Iodine contrast Dye . The radiographer did not even bother 2 hoots what I was going through. Felt my brain was going to explode at the same time a massive migraine attack i was in so much pain unbelievable. Double whammy. It happened again with Remifentanil this time it was just intense brain pressure like was going to explode big time so much pressure and pain . The moment they reverse it it took at least several minutes for it to clear but my head still felt very heavy and mushy like a ton of bricks or some one had hit me with a bat.
