I was quite apprehensive about it all and the thought of starting the mtx has been quite daunting. The nurse was really

Epidural steroid injections or normal steroid injections?
Hi I have read some inputs from people having the above. For some it worked for others they got more problems and I am scared also because I suffered from extra vasation of contrast six years ago which triggered lots of health problems and cancer. I don't want to get another medical mishap. The triage

Pain following intramuscular steroid injection.
Hi Everyone, I had a steroid shot ( in my bottom!) today and it's throbbing with pain. I had one a few months ago but realise now I was using a transdermal opiod patch at the time and that quite possibly reduced the pain. I've been applying heat all evening but it doesn't seem to have helped. Any tips

osteoporosis and RLS
We seem to have some 'clever clogs' on this site, so perhaps someone can tell me if there is any connection between RLS and osteoporosis? I have had RLS in the past but wouldn't describe the symptoms as pain, although the weird sensations are hard to live with. However, having had 4 spinal fractures

Mycophenolate begone!
Hi, was going to post on Barnclowns myco thread but decided that any negative reaction to mycophenolate probably should go somewhere else. Spoiler alert - not a positive post having not been posting here for a long time though I do read every day. I have SLE / RA / Fibro, Reynauds, possibly vasculitis

Worse after Steroid Injection
My husband was given a steroid injection in a Rheumatology Clinic last Thursday, by a Rheumatologist who barely spoke English. He tests positive for RA. but had to stop Hydroxychloroquine because of eye problems. Don't know what steroid they injected but he is complaining of a worsening of pain in

1 Big Fat Circle around the NHS - advice please on my new non-NHS plan and blood results :)
This is my first (sorry rather long!) post. I was first diagnosed hypothyroidism 9 years ago (2008), after the birth of my first child. (No ranges given but TSH was 76, FT4 = 3.4, Anti TPO IgG Anti body = positive = 822iu/ml (normal = 1-50 iu/ml)) 150mcg Levothyroxine commenced. 5 months later levels

Yet another AI disease
Hi All, I have just been diagnosed with this two days ago. My GP sent me to A&E as she thought I may have had a blood clot as the pain across my chest, shoulders etc was quite bad and my chest sounded ok. However blood tests and X-ray ruled this out. I was showing inflammation across my rib cage and

Can't sleep!
I had my knee aspirated what is now yesterday afternoon, and was given a steroid injection into the joint. It's now 04:00 and I am wide awake but exhausted. Have any of you had a joint steroid shot and then had insomnia? Not worried, just curious and whiling away the hours!!!
