Tingling
I have secondary SS, having previously had Polymyalgia Rheumatica and taken prednisolone for 6 years. I was able to give that up a year ago. However, aches and pains I didn't have with PMR have now surfaced - my knees have both quite suddenly become osteo-arthritic in the past year and I react badly

Aldehydes and thiamine and Candida
Are aldehydes depleting your b1? An interesting theory: http://www.outthinkingparkinsons.com/articles/dopamine-aldehyde http://drhoustonanderson.com/sensitive-noses-aldehyde-sniff-test/ Candida produces aldehydes, and Candida overgrowth can be caused by steroid injections for hayfever, asthma inhalers

Joints more painful since starting Methotrexate!
Been quietly reading the posts for a while but really need some advice. I was diagnosed with sero negative RA 12 months ago. I resisted starting Methotrexate for 10 months due to being nervous about the side effects. Steroid injections worked really well for me and made me feel like a new person for

Previous fracture, new pain
Hey everyone. I’m hoping someone can help me out here, maybe based on their own experiences. I would be very thankful as I feel quite at a loss about what to do. I haven’t been diagnosed with RA but I’m having such pain in my ankle joint which I broke many years ago and having no answers through X-ray

Brain fog?
Has any one experienced the following. I am taking the Bioligic Cimzia, I had a very bad flare 3 weeks ago. I had a steroid injection two days after the flare began. I slowly began to improve and then a week later picked up a cold that has knocked me. Symptoms, dry ticklely cough, quite heady very tired

Hi, I'm due to start cimzia and wondered how anyone else got on with it ? I've had all sorts of DMARDS , pain relief and steroids and nothing is really working . It's nearly 2 years since I was diagnosed . When I broke my wrist the orthopaedic chap said there was a lot of damage on the X-ray making

Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’ll get - a message to newbies.
As I am about to hit week 9 full on – I’m reflecting on my journey over the last 10 – 11 weeks (I missed a few weeks due to illness and life stuff!). To the newbies I hope read this post – to Err is human….. – Just do it, you’ll never look back. (I’m full of stuff like that) To put it into some perspective

Thank you all for your encouraging replies to my previous post re Methylprednisolone injections. Just to say I had the steroid jab last Thursday and I feel wonderful, almost back to normal and I can use my fingers and wrists for the first time in weeks. My joints are still a bit sore but absolutely

Hydroxychloroqine Sulfate Quinoric
I put a post on this really helpful forum about my struggle with Hydroxychloroquine sulfate which made me vomit and have a really bad stomach to the point where I had to take frequent breaks from it to let my stomach recover and eventually gave up. People on this forum referred me to an older post discussing

Vitamin D deficiency?
I had a hospital appointment last week, only 2 months since rituximab infusion and my hands are so painful. The nurse gave me a steroid injection, which usually kicks in after a few days, but only a slight improvement so far, the pain is still pretty bad. She did send me for a blood test for my vitamin

Bad News
Hi Everyone. I haven't posted for a while as I've been doing great....so I thought! 4 weekly bloods have just shown up that I have extreme B12 deficiency and very low folic. I've to get infusions 3 times a week for 2 weeks to boost it quickly before going onto 3 monthly ones. I'm covered in bruises and

Newly diagnosed
Hello all, I’ve only recently been diagnosed with SLE (around 5 weeks ago now) and so I’m slowly coming to terms with everything it brings. For the past 2-3 years I’ve had episodic joint pains but always brushed it off as nothing, but since I had a viral infection in January, the pain turned to constant

Steroid injection good or bad?
I’ve been suffering with bursitis and sciatica in my left hip since November 2017. The gp has now decided to refer me for a steroid injection in my upper thigh/below bum cheek to help. Just wanted to hear peoples experiences of these injections/ side effects/ benefits/risks, etc. Thanks xxx

Anyone else have no support or help at home?
Hi I’m new here. Have had RA for 20 years plus more if you count undiagnosed. Have tried Methatrexate, Sulph, Cimzia, Enbrel, too many steroid injections to remember. Now in Abatercept infusions and started Leflunomide 2 weeks ago. I feel like I have a permanent hangover and my joints are so sore. I

Hi I haven’t written on here for a good while but there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t have a look to see the sad , happy and hopeful posts . I always end up in tears ! I was lucky enough to get pregnant on my second round of icsi . I had to pinch myself as I still don’t believe it’s real. Only
