So i was expecting to have an op on my elbow this week but the consultant changed his mind on the day and decided a steroid injection was best- i was mightily confused but thats another story!!!
So how long will the injection last will it leave me pain free? I have OA in my elbow.
Thanks

I'll be very interested to see your replies! I'm on the waiting list for an elbow replacement (I have RA) and had a steroid injection in the meantime. It's been around 2 months now and the elbow isn't as pain free as just after the injection but not as bad as before. Confused now as to whether surgery is necessary!!
My op was to clean out the joint and remove cartilage debris that is causing pain and locking. The surgeon decided last minute to try a steroid instead!
Its OA in my elbow but i have RA too. I’m only 41 so they have said my elbow will need surgery but they want to put it off as long as possible. Really hoping it works.
Fingers crossed for you. I started with RA in my left elbow when I was 21 and although I've had ups and downs with it and it's deformed I'm relatively pain free and can use it quite well. Hope that's a help.
