GCA relapse
I am currently having a bad GCA relapse and have put my
steroids
up from 3.5 to 7.5 mg. What always surprises me is that if I have a hot bath, one where I am fully immersed, I miraculously get so much better straight away. - an effect which often lasts until the morning.

Lack of understanding of PMR and prescribing Prednisolone
Fortunately, the majority don’t and will never experience such mismanagement and consequent problems due to ‘fear’ of
steroids
on the part of doctors/rheumatologists which is, in turn, instilled in the patient. https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/imed.1010

14 year old son with tight foreskin, will he need surgery
My son recently told his dad that his foreskin doesn't retract. I think he was to embarrassed to talk to me. Took him to the doctors and was told to apply steroid cream and was told try gentle stretching. Went back a month later, and although the foreskin is less tight and now retracting it's not fully

Topical steroid & osteoporosis
Hi, I have severe osteoporosis as well as diffuse systemic sclerosis. I am having 6 monthly injections of denosumab. I also have chronic ulcers on feet which are being looked after by tissue viability. I have just finished a 2 week course of a strong topical steroid cream with this week off. The nurse

Dexamethasone & Chloramphenicol. Do they cause blurred vision?
My vision's been quite blurry since - even this morning, before I started putting the
steroids
in, it wasn't quite right. I've had steroid drops before but only in my right which has limited vision so I've not been aware of the effects really.

Prednisone and blurry vision
He’s been a very competent Othamologist ,but when I mentioned a high steroid treatment if I did get GCA he remarked that once it “ happens”
steroids
don’t help. I wasn’t in the mood to argue with him . He said it would happen overnight and nothing to prevent it.

Miscarriage @ 5 wks, 5th transfer. What to do next?
Never been on

or baby aspirin or clexane as clinic does not really advocate this. I’m planning on going to either Spain or Greece next as I think they may be better for my age. Has anybody been in a similar situation to me and had success abroad?

Started feeling some stiffness and then I had a total return of symptoms last night and this morning--as bad or worse than before starting
steroids
. I took 12.5 mg this morning and plan to take another 7.5 early this evening to see if I can recover.

Sore perineum and vulvar
I have a pudendal nerve entrapment diagnosis of 8 years now but recently the pain from the anal area has now moved to my vaginal area causing really bad pain in vagina, vulva and perineum. I was given hormone cream to insert by gp as she thought it was menopausal symptoms. This didn't work. I revisited

PMR mentioned on TV
And they went through the different people and then said the lady had been prescribed
steroids
to help with her chronic pain. I felt a sense of being underwhelmed that the condition was not mentioned clearly at the end of the programme! Did any one else see it.?

Mortons Neuroma
I've been told I can't drive for 6 hours but i think that is more due to potential reactions to the
steroids
rather than the injection itself. Any advice would be gratefully received. TIA Sarah
