Just Left My Doctor’s Office
The Neuro wants me to get a MRI and a (3) day round of SM
Steroids
infusion in - home! Oh well, not looking forward to the MRI, after 20 + over the years who’s counting! I’ll need ZZ Quil about 30 mins prior so I won’t be a cry baby and tell the technicians to get me the “heck” out of there!

4 courses of steroids for chest infection
I’ve taken 4 courses of
steroids
since beginning of December In total this is 680 mg. My doctor has prescribed another 2 week course as I felt breathless and wheezy again. I’m concerned that this is too much to take considering what I’ve already taken. Has anyone else taken so many
steroids
?

hi all I am at week three of my PMR journey, and have been taking
steroids
at 15 mg then increased to 20, I am now taking 25 mg to see if that is any good. I seem to be improving in some ways. In other ways I feel I am worse.

How do you deal with a very dry mouth?
Put on

& have had appointments with rheumatologist. After blood tests, scans & X-rays the rheumatologist says I have rotator cuff disease which being referred to shoulder surgeon and more than likely sjogrens. Blood test showed false negative apparently.

Skin ulcers
I am not on
steroids
at the moment (just plaquenil) and don't have any other signs of a possible flare. Has anyone ever had something like this? Is it related to Lupus or just a coincidence? Thanks for any advice.

steroids after a fall…
I’m taking painkillers (co-codamol) that work for a while till they wear off….Would anyone know if increasing my
steroids
would help? I’m on 5.5 at the moment after nearly 7 years, the lowest I’ve ever been and was doing really well till my fall… many thanks in advance

Can steroids treat FND?
They prescribed a tapering dose of prednisolone
steroids
starting at 40mg for 2 weeks and reducing by 5mg a week. My question is this - does FND normally respond to
steroids
? While I was on the
steroids
, pretty much all my symptoms went away. Not completely but I would say 80-90% better.

Glaucoma after transplant
Like many transplant patients I was on a regiment of
steroids
after transplant. Unlike some I have had to continue a small dose after 4 years post transplant due to rejection. Within that time I have had gout and eye infections which included the use of
steroids
for inflammation.

Update - Not Polymyalgia?
Also feel a bit annoyed to have been told to take
steroids
for the last 6 months for no reason? Rheumatologist thinks my ESR went up when I reduced the
steroids
because I had put on weight? I had put on a stone.

Does anyone have raised blood sugar levels as a result of taking
steroids
for chemotherapy? My doctor has increased my medication but my levels are still high. I wondered whether there's anything else that might help eg a particular diet. Thanks.

which steroids and what dosage.
Don’t know if the steroid Dexamethosone would be appropriate for brain cancer but your doctor should know. It is given to me every 21 days at Docetaxel chemo infusion for PCa and absolutely eliminates pains. Can last for 12-18 hours. Ask your doc about it. Mike Seattle
