How to Strengthen the mussels controlling the excretions ?
I am 71 Type 2 since 2000 kept under control and strictly following LCHF since 2014. It is felt, since of late, the mussels controlling the excretions are not functioning well as they used to. While lying down in bed when you feel the need to go to the toilet, it leaves hardly any time when you stand

New Fatty Liver Here & A Brief(ish) History
Hi all, new to the forum though I've been reading loads of stories since being told I have a fatty liver last week. I've had some health-related issues for a couple of years now (fatigue, confusion, anxiety, dizziness, weakness, photosensitivity) and had blood work drawn. Found my ALT to be 99 and AST

Anyone trying Low carb high fat?
Hello all! I’m not sure I’m really doing the right thing? I’m avoiding carbs.. bread, potatoes, rice, pasta. Replacing with salad, roast veg, spiralizing courgettes.. I’ve even tried the cauliflower rice trick... but seem to be eating lots of meat and fatty stuff. Home made scotch eggs etc. Not hungry

Breathing problems
Does anyone else suffer badly with breathing problems and wheeziness with hypothyroidism? I have had mild asthma but it’s always been under control, however lately I’m so short of breath and wheezy constantly. My peak flow is still 500-600 so I’m not sure i agree with my doctors when they keep telling

Irritated lungs / breathing passages
Anyone else having a sensation of irritation in the breathing system with Flecainide... had it for the last two or three months..difficult to get anyone to come up with an idea as my peak flow is well above the norm for my age, I row, run, cycle and walk without problem. My oxygen levels are always around

Yummy, Chewy, Tuna Patties.
These are easy to make, affordable and can easily be adapted to whatever ingredients you have to hand. We added spring onion as well as the chives and parsley to ours and they were super delicious. So tasty and chewy. Healthy, delicious and nutritious (especially with a side salad), so of course I wanted

PF noise
When I do my peak flow and breathe out as hard as I can I always make a wheezing noise but I don't have any other symptoms. The results are always up and down but they never go under the green. Is it normal to have that noise? I never had it in the past.

Ablation/Inversion Update bad start better end to the week
Ongoing updates .. intended to be helpful so apologisee if this is like a rather like a self centred saga! following my first ablation on 10 July and a cardioinversion last Friday 14th of August (after 3 weeks of my worst "Afib") The inversion worked for a week but I have now moved back into Afib

Taper Success
Hi all. Once again thank you for all the invaluable advice over the last few months. I have managed my first successful taper - only 1mg but that's more than I have managed since the induced flare up back in February. What's worked for me is going very low carb. Really really obvious when I eat sugar

Bless me LCHF, for I have sinned
It has been four months since my last sugar, but yesterday... 😨.. 😱 I had one third of a slice of cake. And then, in the evening, I went to a chain restaurant that was not aware of low carb. I picked what looked like the safest options, various animal based tapas. they all arrived covered

Peak flow
Hello there Can I ask if there’s a way to get health professionals to take your symptoms seriously even if your peak flow is your best? Mine is at my best yet I’m SOB, yawning loads (stops if I use reliever), coughing and my breathing is noticeable to other family members. It’s definitely not anxiety

Has anyone tried or researched low dose naltrexone for pain symptoms? From what I’ve read is it works like opioids. I’ve tried opioids once and didn’t seem to help. Just wondered if it may work a little different also. Shows that it helps with MS and neuropathy so possible. The last increase in Gabapentin

Keto recipe recommendations
Hi guys! I’m looking for some tried and tested keto recipes. I use the diet doctor but some of the recipes I’ve tried taste absolutely awful. Someone kindly gave the recipe for 4-minute keto crackers which were divine with some cream cheese! So does anyone have any other keto recipes that they have tried

Not a great few days
Got on the scales to discover that I have put on over a stone so time to embrace a low carb / low sugar diet I think! Have also bought a Fitbit so it will be interesting to track my sleep patterns. Also, last ‘visit’ to rheumatologist did not go well. I got a text a few days ago to say that it would

DEXA Dilemma - Round 2!
Warning! Long post, so grab a cup of tea/coffee first. This will either make you laugh or cry. You may need a Hobnob half way through to sustain you, even if you’re on a low carb diet! 😀 Morning all! Nope, it’s already afternoon. Doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun!🤪 Let’s just say I’m not in

Feeling a bit down
I’m feeling a bit down and sorry for myself ...lol, do you ever have those days? I’m trying to fill out PIP form and you know when you’re writing your worst day scenario. Frustrated too cos I’m still struggling to breathe with the step up of my inhalers although my Peak flow is improving. I’m not bad

Questions about adding T3 to levothyroxine for the first time
Hello everyone, I have been given a private prescription for liothyronine (2 x 2.5mcg per day) which should hopefully arrive in a couple of weeks. I'm currently on 150mcg levothyroxine which I take at night. I prefer this as it means I can eat/drink tea as soon as I wake up, and I noticed I feel more
