Bless me LCHF, for I have sinned

It has been four months since my last sugar, but yesterday... 😨.. 😱

I had one third of a slice of cake.

And then, in the evening, I went to a chain restaurant that was not aware of low carb. I picked what looked like the safest options, various animal based tapas. they all arrived covered in breadcrumbs, and the halloumi chips were accompanied sweet chilli sauce.

I've been very strong for the last 9 months, but an hour before we went to the restaurant, we were discussing foods. My friend claimed she did not like sweet and savoury, but I know she loves ketchup, and when I admitted I loved sweet chilli sauce, she admitted loving it too.

Anyway, I decided not to avoid the sauce, that I haven't had all year. It tasted the same as I remembered it. 😋 I literally licked the bowl. Well, not quite literally, I ran my finger around the bowl, then licked my finger.

This morning I was 300g heavier than yesterday - so all normal - and no cravings today. Happy enough to have my next crumb coating and sweet chilli sauce in a pre-christmas party!

For my penance, I will create a low carb community.

It sounds like you enjoyed your sinful episode and aren't reproaching yourself too much!!☺️ Isn't it incredible how eating that stuff has caused 300g weight gain though?!

300g is inside my normal weight fluctuations. It's not a weight gain.

I didn't apparently eat enough to gain water weight 😔

LOL. I wouldn't stress over it, especially since you have no cravings today. In any case it sounds as if your meal was reasonably low carb, if not even close to keto.

IMO things only really turn to crap when people are eating vast amounts of carbs at every meal, every day.

When I was doing my 'keto' phase I used to regularly eat battered fried chicken. My ketostix still turned purple.

You ate battered fried chicken in a 'keto' phase...quite a confession!!

Yeah, that one needs absolution.

And what sort of oil? 🤯

Palm oil is the usual choice out here. Full of saturated fats. Mmmm, saturated fat :)

I am not stressed 😂

Planning my next foray into the world of dining out: wood fired pizza. Capricciosa, to be precise.

I will have to recite at least one decade of the rosary after eating that.

Sounds like you've been pretty well behaved to me! Delicious sounding meal :-)

Strange how easy it was to leave the ciabatta on the table.

You're well and truly converted then! :-)

It’s good that you enjoyed it 😊 and it doesn’t seem to have harmed you at all. Being fat-adapted should mean your body can handle these mini carb-eating-excursions much better now 🍰

You will create a low carb community as penance...wow, you are a glutton for punishment!! 🤣🤣

Seriously, I am sure you will survive the episode, and you had a nice time!

I was with you every part of that bowl running my finger around it . Yum sweet chilli sauce 😋😋. I like it poured over a pot of Philadelphia cream cheese.... or rather I did !

I wouldn’t beat myself up over it it’s not as if it was a regular occurrence and once you’d got that far it was as well to have the sauce too, you would only have felt deprived if you hadn’t.

Yep...I too confess. 3 glasses of prosecco which MADE me have 10 malteasers. Good news is they tasted so sickly sweet. And now my legs ache because of the alchohol. No cravings for more sugar. Yeah.

I'm the same. I only want sugar after it has been converted to alcohol. 😁
