Week 5 done, at last!
One positive is that I bought some new trainers and socks and been surprised how much more comfortable my feet feel while
running
. The difference proper
running
socks make was a real eye opener - no more supermarket sports socks for me!

ankle/leg pain when running
It felt like my ankles and lower shins were seizing up which made
running
really difficult if I’m honest. I don’t know if this is what shin splints feel like, but it was like I couldn’t move my ankles, which then made it feel like my muscles round my shin and my calves were cramping.

Let’s just pop in
We decided to ‘just pop in’ to a
running
shop - The Lincolnshire Runner on the High Street. Great staff who even know the owners of my (and Beachcomber66’s) local
running
shop too! Half an hour later we emerged with these beauties!

My first year of running
Your goals could be distance-based, speed-based,
running
trails, different routes and locations, regular Parkruns,
running
with others,
running
alone, a combination of those or something else.

J.K. Rowling and the Running Grave
I confess that I stayed up most of last night reading straight through the 900-some pages of Rowling's the
Running
Grave. I could not stop reading, but I would definitely not recommend that anyone pick up the book.

🍏Time is running out
A week today we will be packing and starting our long journey back to the UK🏡 We arrived in Calgary after a wonderful week in the mountains to this glorious sunset. I managed 3 runs and lots of outdoor swimming in the hot springs plus lots of walks. This made it easy to do a 4k run here yesterday.

9th Graduation 👩🎓!
I’ve started off well this year,
running
twice a week and have kept it up. The most important thing for me is not to get injured so whilst pushing myself if I feel up to it, I don’t push too hard. So… keep
running
everyone and don’t beat yourselves up, just enjoy it and keep on doing it!

Shin Splints
I have started
