Run and Walk
Today I went for a nice walk, but decided to revert to my army days of
running
and walking. So it was 5 minuets walking, 5 minuets
running
for 1 hour. It was wonderful to think that I could archive what I thought was the impossible πββοΈπ¨βπ¦―πββοΈπ

A walking revelation for running C25K
... it was not easy but I have found that
running
can be pain relieving for me in a way that a walk may not be and I have stuck with it.

Does Fostair Makes You More Sensitive to Allergens?
What use to be occasional chest tightness during my routine
running
+ unable to run two consecutive days if the first day is
running
in the woods (probably because at the first day i breath too much allergens), now become chest tightness almost ALL of my runs.

Slow Pace
I'm into week 6 and at my current pace
running
for 30 mins won't get me near 5K. Any solutions other than
running
faster?

No running, hiking instead
Hopeless day for
running
. Snowing all the time and zero degrees, creaky snow. So I went hiking, 2 km. About 110 m ascent. Path not bad, the snow had been compacted by many hikers. Near the top I spotted a lone runner trying to do more than jog, snail style. Enough said.

Running thoughts
After about a km I had a thought so asked my husband, who was
running
behind me, if he minded that I was
running
so slowly when he is capable of going much faster than me. There was a silence...then he said, 'No, it's not about speed, this is my meditation.' You know what, he's right.

How do you feel about running on a treadmill?
Went to to gym ποΈββοΈ πͺ with my son in law after work and did a work out then said to him I'll go and do some
running
on the treadmill and wow can't believe the times I know I did it on totally flat and I still prefer
running
outside but is it cheating or should I feel proud for my times?

Thank you all
This is my first post, so I just want to say thank you to everyone on this forum: your comments and posts have been an important part of my
running
'journey'. After doing c25k last year, I struggled a bit to keep
running
after a nasty bout of COVID and during the cold weather.

6 Years On and Still Going!
I learned about
running
watches, cadence, Ju_Juβs magic plan (5 to 10k) and discovered amazing virtual
running
buddies, nearly all of whom have progressed through to longer distances together.

W41R3 - slow "run" after a hard week :-)
I seriously considered just
running
the minimum distance due to fatigue from a hard week, but I regretted doing so. Also because the workload doesn't end and I don't know yet how I will manage three runs in the next week. So I didn't want to give up in advance :-) Happy

Running in circles
I will try and make this the short version. My husband has advanced prostate cancer 4+5=9 (Gleason 9). One year ago it metastasized to the T9. He had radiation to the spot. In the meantime, he has had severe pain in the neck area. after scans, they said it was from an injury. (he has never had an injury

Quick follow-on re enjoying running
Thank you all who responded to my post about how I could enjoy my ( very slow) jog a bit more. Wow, you really made a difference. Went out today and used all the things you recommended (smile, tell myself βIβm loving this!β, go even slower, look around, relax shoulders etc etc). And it worked, although

Plantar fasciitis
I love
running
but have not run for nearly 3 weeks. On my last run I 'concentrated on posture': while
running
I stretched by back. This gave me quite a sore lower back so I rested. Then I noticed that my heel was sore. I have self diagnosed π«£ from the NHS website and am applying ice.

Running advice
Hi I graduated from couch to 5k a few months back , since then Iβve been
running
5k at least twice a week. Iβm struggling to make the next step & feel like Iβve hit a brick wall . Iβm hoping to do a 10k in December but feel like Iβm a million miles away from that at the minute.

Another C25K finisher π
Finally completed this after having to miss a week of
running
due to a slight foot injury. Iβve not managed 5k but can do the 30 minutes of
running
. Now to try a 5k and see how I do π. Do I get a badge even though Iβve not reached 5k yet?

Week 5 done, at last!
One positive is that I bought some new trainers and socks and been surprised how much more comfortable my feet feel while
running
. The difference proper
running
socks make was a real eye opener - no more supermarket sports socks for me!
