This is my first post, so I just want to say thank you to everyone on this forum: your comments and posts have been an important part of my running 'journey'. After doing c25k last year, I struggled a bit to keep running after a nasty bout of COVID and during the cold weather. Reading comments by others struggling in a similar way often gave me the motivation to go out and at least keep a hand in the game. Since April I have enjoyed running more again, and am very slowly working my way to longer distances, with my first 9k yesterday on delightfully sunny-but-not-too-hot long run. Thanks again to everyone for the virtual company and support.

What a great upbeat post Aduke. 9k; the threshold of double figures, but a great run in its own right. Well done for persevering; as you clearly know, it is well worth the effort. Look forward to reading more happy posts!🙂

Awww thanks. It didn't feel like it at the time, and I guess that is the kind of run we are all hoping for 🙏

It’s a super group of people who hang out here and you’re included in that. We are all on our own unique journey but together we are all here for each other and we will always support each other. Fantastic work getting back up to 9K again. It is so so hard to build yourself up again after a break from running. I’ve been there many times. We just need to keep plodding along.

Congratulations on all you’ve achieved-especially post Covid which can be miserable. This forum has kept me going through tough times. It’s great to hear it’s been an encouragement to you too. Would love to hear how you’re getting on with your run journey ❤️

Sending masses of good wishes your way!

Thank you so much! I think for me the darkness of the winter months was a big factor, but now I'm glad I stuck it out. I really appreciate you & everyone else whose posts have contributed to that sense of community here 🙏
