Is running is better than walking?
Both are necessary and undoubtedly good for you, but only
running
gives me that buzz and the thrill and the chance to shout in my inner voice "I'm 61 and I'm
running
"....."I'm 61 and I'm walking and brushing my teeth" just doesn't have the same ring to it 😂

CATCH-UP- CORNER...MAY...WEEK 1...WALK the WALK...TALK the TALK...
Whatever level of
running
you are on. The only exception ? If you are an experienced elite runner,
running
the race of your life, to break a record, or,
running
away from a wild beast! ( No lions here)!

Nothing serious happened, but the ice hidden under the snow is not ideal for

Looking ahead to graduation...
For me as I'm
running
on a treadmill currently that's easy to engineer if thats the best idea, but I'm imagining that when
running
outdoors it is harder to control and could be more a case of continuing with the same perceived effort rather than pace.

YES!! Here we go again; It’s POM POM TIME
Good morning
running
friends; we are moving towards the second week of June, but still awaiting proper summer weather up here. Sun tempered by chill winds and peppered by frequent showers is the pattern. We hope conditions are better for our imperious six runners this weekend.

o dear 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Started with 5 minutes walking and the idea was to continue with 5 minutes of
running
and then another 5 minutes of walking for about 30 minutes in total. However after just 4 minutes I felt a twinge so I stopped
running
immediately but have felt it all afternoon. 😢😢😢 I’m devastated.

Running thoughts
After about a km I had a thought so asked my husband, who was
running
behind me, if he minded that I was
running
so slowly when he is capable of going much faster than me. There was a silence...then he said, 'No, it's not about speed, this is my meditation.' You know what, he's right.

Running reading recommendations, please 📚 ..and week 5 run 3 fear!
Good morning, good runners! 🏃♀️ I’m gearing up for the final run of week 5 this evening and it’s the least confident I’ve been about making it through a run. A solid 20 minutes feels like a big step up! 🥵 Does anyone have any good book recommendations to accompany the beginner runner journey

Week 8 Run 2 - how to continue after graduation???
I’ve got graduation coming up next week and am so worried that once I’ve finished the programme I will just stop
running
🙃 it doesn’t feel like I’m ready to graduate and I don’t trust myself to make my own routines and structure with
running
after the programme…any advice on this would be so appreciated

Weekly Chat 8th - 14th July; Keeping Off The Injury Couch!
Next was calves (which we would all have guessed) and ankles, the latter being caused by sudden switches from road
running
to trail
running
without adjusting pace and distance to allow ankles to build up strength to cope with the additional loads.

I’m immensely grateful to my family, friends and the
running
community for getting me to where I am now. Things could have been very, very different without my
running
to give me something to aim for!

Finished Runkeeper’s 5k plan today
I might just keep the subscription for another 6 weeks and continue on to their 10k plan, which should get me to 60 min
running
. Happy
running
, everyone!

Running advice
Hi I graduated from couch to 5k a few months back , since then I’ve been
running
5k at least twice a week. I’m struggling to make the next step & feel like I’ve hit a brick wall . I’m hoping to do a 10k in December but feel like I’m a million miles away from that at the minute.

Saturday 2 hour Long Run 😊
I generally don’t like
running
in the heat, but putting in such little effort makes it easier. Happy
running
, or rest well if you’re on the IC. 😊☀️🥰
