Shake out your pompoms, grab your sunnies and pack light ... we've got some distance to cover this weekend!
Both events take place on Sunday 21st, so feel free to rest and take in the sights on Saturday, because on Sunday we will be busy!
πFirst we travel to Greece where OldManRunning will be tackling the Rhodes 10k. The Rhodes marathon event is billed as 'a stunning seaside trip to one of the sunniest destinations in Europe' where you can 'experience a magical journey through time! Let the history of Rhodes take you on a journey from the Classical, Roman, Byzantine, Medieval, Ottoman and Italian eras to the present day!'. This 'out and back' race is run entirely along the coast and looks amazing! With an early start, hopefully it will be sunny but not too warm! Not jealous at all OMR π€·ββοΈπ
πThen back in the UK Time_Lord will be running the Shakespeare HM. Running around closed roads in the city of Stratford and along the Stratford Greenway, this route is described as 'flat and fast ... ideal for pb racing! It looks altogether cooler than Rhodes (which may be a good thing), but at least it currently looks to be dry. Have a blast out there TL ππ₯
Both beautiful places to run, have fun and know the pom poms are waving madly from here for you both, and a bit like Linda....not jealous at all π€£, but in a good way
TailChaser and I are on volunteer duty at the Stratford event so will look out for Time_Lord and may even have βactualβ pom-poms to wave! Good luck to OldManRunning too, what a wonderful location for a run.
Two epic runs in different ways. Hope the sun doesnβt shine too brightly in Rhodes OldManRunning ! Stratford will hopefully be tolerably cool for Time_Lord β¦..and not, repeat not, raining!βοΈ Have a fantastic time and post some pictures π
Good luck OldManRunning and Time_Lord I spent my honeymoon in Rhodes (not running π), beautiful and Iβm sure Stratford will be amazing. I am amazed that TailChaser and co are not doing it given their recent history!
Erβ¦ noβ¦. Iβm just being a voucher tart - Β£100 voucher against RunThrough races for marshalling. Itβll pay for a few training races for Berlin π
Yes it is, although I think they may be getting their monies worth with us as weβre at the southern most point so have to bike there and weβll have no one passing for at least 2 hours after the start. Iβm hoping the 4G signal is good so we can watch a bit of London!
