Radiation Sessions
I am considering proton therapy radiation for my DICS cancer found in the left breast. Six months ago, I had a dissection B - TAVAR for a torn aorta. I am very concerned about the radiation penetrating to heart and lungs. The main concern is if proton therapy radiation is so advanced, why is the standard

Rare Case of Recurrent Cutaneous CLL in the Extremity: Long-Term Follow-Up and Literature Review, Written with the Assistance of ChatGPT
The original case study was from 2001, so treatment was well before the availability targeted CLL therapies and
radiotherapy
contributed to curing the blisters. The case study is also an example of how ChatGPT can be used to make such reports more understandable.

Lupron Injection denied by Medicare Advantage PPO plan
My husband will need Lupron injections monthly x4. Two before starting radiation, and 2 during radiation treatment. The insurance, Medicare Advantage PPO, denied it. Anyone successfully appealed the denial? Any suggestions from the group? I checked and Medicare part D covers Lupron for the treatment

Are Lymph nodes a filter?
Do lymph nodes simply act as a temporary filter to prevent cancer from spreading too far? I was curious about this because I have 4th stage prostate cancer, and my Lymph had swelled to the size of a golfball. When I took the ADT, my PSA went from 1000, down to 6, and all evidence of cancer disappeared

PMR / Prednisone
I personally am critical of going up or down on prednisone dosage. I was diagnosed with PMR about 4 years ago and have had bouts of low and high doses in the intervening years with very little impact. I dreaded having to be on steroids for a long period with all their scary side affects! I am now off

Rough few days
This past week has been hard on me. Thursday I was scheduled for the last of 5 radiation treatments to my lower back, and to begin Taxol treatments, at two different cancer centers. My blood pressure was so low, I was sent to an "urgent care" center and then from there by ambulance to the ER. All

Clear Cell reoccurrence update number 4
I’m not a candidate for
radiotherapy
either but I may be a candidate for surgery. I’ve been referred for a laparoscopy to find out if my cancer can be safely reached and removed, if not I’ll be for more chemotherapy. I’ll keep you all posted, love n stuff Carol x

Thanks and hope to all
No questions …just wanted to thank everyone for all your input and support …especially during the holidays. Had my Christmas radiation treatment yesterday and 7 of 15 linac dose today.. Brachytherapy prior with ADT for the last 7 months. Things seem to be going as smoothly as it sometimes does. Appreciate

Is nmCRPC potentially curable?
I would appreciate any input on this. I searched the internet and found this article from Fred Saad: Treatment of nonmetastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer: focus on second-generation androgen receptor inhibitors https://www.nature.com/articles/s41391-020-00310-3 I couldn't find anything

GBM and Keto Diet - Urgent
My brother was diagnosed with GBM (grade IV) in May 2023. I wonder, please, if any of you know about the Keto Diet and how effective it might be in treating GBM. He has had CV (Awake Craniotomy), followed by chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Thank you

WHAT ARE THE CURRENT EFFECTIVE SALVAGE TREATMENTS IN CASE OF A REOCCURRENCE IF YOU HAVE HAD SBRT,IMRT, WITH PLACEMENT OF GOLD BARS?
It appears that if you had SBRT or like myself IMRT and you were given
gold markers
you cannot do any of the following
salvage treatments in case of a reoccurrence
: Proton therapy, Hifu, Tulsa Pro , Etc. Is this true???? Again a significant fact left out before treatment...

BIOMARKER TESTING
My wife has extensive small cell lung cancer (SCLC-E) and has undergone chemotherapy, immunotherapy and
radiotherapy
. Her lung tumor is currently stable and I want to get options if her current immunotherapy (atezolizumab every three weeks) becomes ineffective.
