Hi everyone, hope you’re all not too bad and enjoying the lovely weather.
I’ve been back to The Christie, I didn’t get on the immunotherapy trial, my CA125 wasn’t high enough would you believe! I’m not a candidate for radiotherapy either but I may be a candidate for surgery. I’ve been referred for a laparoscopy to find out if my cancer can be safely reached and removed, if not I’ll be for more chemotherapy. I’ll keep you all posted, love n stuff Carol x
I'm so pleased you had positive news. It is so important in my opinion to get second opinions. All oncologist have different ideas/treatment plans and all surgeons have different skill sets. Im sure you're in good hands with Prof J and that they will find a suitable plan for you. Wishing you all the best going forward. Keep on touch. 😘
Thank you for your update. Lovely to hear from you. Sounds like you have options and hope laparoscopy goes well. 🙏 Hope they can remove it. I have just had my pre op CT, just waiting for results and surgery date. I will be thinking of you, keep us updated. Noriexxx 🙏🌻🌸
HeySo good to hear treatments are still going to be available to you.
Fingers crossed and lots of hugs to you and keep us all updated x
You have been through alot with all the possible treatments and twists and turns It would be wonderful if surgery turns out to be an option after all! Really hoping the laparoscopy brings very good news Hugs xx
I am at a loss as to why a trial is needed. Immunotherapy concurrently with SBRT radiation therapy has become a standard of treatment 5 years ago. Do you have access to CyberKnife Radiation treatment. I like CyberKnife because it has less collateral damage and sub-millimeter accuracy in 1 to 5 treatments. You will need a PET and CT or MRI for treatment planning.
We have very good success with many cancers including sarcomas and metastasis. Social medicine breaks my heart.
We have access to CT, MRI, PET scans etc . Medical trials are used worldwide to trial new and innovate treatments or combinations of treatments. Clear cell ovarian cancer is rare and can be difficult to treat, as such, standard OC treatment regimes may not be as effective as for other forms of OC. All of our treatment is personalised and we have some of the best cancer centres, surgeons and oncologists in the world in the UK. along with groundbreaking research. Bankruptcy or loss of home due to medical bills breaks my heart.
Good to know that you appreciate social medicine. I was trained at M.D. Anderson in Houson Texas. SBRT concurrently with immunotherapy is amazing. It was about over 5 years ago when it was an incidental finding at conference. Every year it gained greater success in the most difficult cases.
