Blood transfusion
Thinking aloud, I wonder if blood transfusions have been tried on Hashimoto sufferers. I read something recently about blood transfusions in mice, and how it restored cognitive abilities and immune system.

Laparoscopy & Endo
Hi. I have just unexpectedly had Laparoscopy and removal of Endometriosis which I never knew I had. I'm 30 and want another baby. I'm very new to all this and am trying to find out as much as I can. Are there stages of Endo? Does it always come back? Am I unlikely to conceive again? No one has explained

Hello chaps
My bood pressure has been high for many years. I tried to loose weight many times but just could not shift it. My BMI was around 32. Two of my Grandparents died of strokes in their late 50's, I'm 58 now. In the end I decided to go on medication, but after around 18 months I decided to come off it because

Donating blood
Report reveals 'unfair survival odds' for BAME blood cancer patients due to lack of donor diversity http://www.nhsbt.nhs.uk/news-and-media/…/news_2016_05_19.asp This is an issue which affects sickle cell, too. Many people who live with sickle cell are black, and require repeated blood transfusions

I finally have been able to document my full story it's far from the final edit and as I C&P from another forum I have fixed some errors
Aged 17 I lost twins, I had my 12 week scan on the thursday and found out that I had miscarried, at this scan they said 1 baby, it was Easter weekend so I waited until the Tuesday and went in for a D&C. It was after the procedure that things took a turn for the worst, I went home the next day I had keytones

Iron deficiency anaemia and b12 deficiency
I have had a serious bout of iron deficiency anaemia when my haemoglobin count went down to 6 and I had to have 2 blood transfusions. Before that I thought I might have B12 deficiency because of some symptoms which were probably anaemia, but also because of numbness and tingling in my feet. My GP said

My (good!) laparoscopy story
Hey ladies :) I had my lap a couple of days ago, and thought you may like to hear my story in case you're preparing for your own. I had to get up early to have toast/tea before 7am, then no food afterwards (my surgery was pm). I was told I could drink water until 11 am so I sipped water throughout

Operation on Tuesday, fingers crossed
I have my appointment for ultra radical surgery on Tuesday which I am soooo not looking forward to, but on the other hand know I have no choice so have been trying to be positive about it all. I received a telephone call late this afternoon from the nurse at the hospital to say I need to go in tomorrow

Perioperative Blood Transfusion as a Significant Predictor of Biochemical Recurrence and Survival after Radical Prostatectomy in Patients wi
New study below. In preparation for my radical prostatectomy 12 years ago, I had two units of blood drawn (the maximum I was allowed), in case blood was needed during surgery. The surgeon told me that most RPs did not require blood. In any case, 2 units would be more than enough. Owing to "unusual

Recovery from Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA) of an HCC tumour
Do any of you have have experience in the recovery from Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA) of a HCC tumour? The doctors don't want to talk about the side effects and complications but I think it must be more difficult than a biopsy. I am expecting at least a difficult 2 weeks. I usually get a lot of pain

Great Site.
This is a great site, and the people are so helpful and respectful to each other. In this day of armchair warriors, where people berate other people its refreshing. I am wondering does anyone know of a good site for car accident victims? Or if anyone has a site for ex service men who have come back from

My story
I had mysterious nonspecific abdominal pain all of 2013. I saw every specialist known over that heat. Everything was negative. Jan. 2014. I had my physical with a doctor I'd switched to. She immediately saw something that shouldn't have been there-blood. I'm post-menopausal and she told me vaginal blood

High PSA
I'm new to this site, so here's my story so far: Two years ago (when I was 68) I lost my appetite and began losing weight - I went from 12 stone in April 2014 to about 10.5 stone over two or three months. My doctor did not start doing blood tests until June of that year and did not include a PSA test

My P.A. Story
Although my P.A. journey started “officially” on 10th May 1972 events from 13 years before may well have been the true beginning.
