Great Site.

This is a great site, and the people are so helpful and respectful to each other. In this day of armchair warriors, where people berate other people its refreshing. I am wondering does anyone know of a good site for car accident victims? Or if anyone has a site for ex service men who have come back from mental trauma, and physical injuries? I have a multiple of problems, including being in a car accident, which left me disabled, with traumatic brain injury, and have developed a plethora conditions including carpal tunnel and damage of the liver due to receiving too many blood transfusions, in such a short period of time, as I was leaking 1.5 liters an hour and placed on ECMO, giving rise to Iron overload, which damaged my liver, my muscles and brain. I too have received a ESA letter. I get one every 12 months to fill in and it seems if the govt don't like the answer they keep rephrasing the question, until you give you. I am at that point now. I was referred to a pain management specialist, but because of the cost of my medication my GP refused me the drug on the basis of cost. I buy the medication from the insane postcode lottery where some people will get the medication, and clearly do not need it, if they are selling it on the black market.

Hi there

I am afraid I cannot answer your question, but I can give you a recommendation. I can't comment upon what's happened to you as I would be thrown off the forum if I gave my personal views.

Suffice to say I am appalled at everything you have been through and are still going through.

I would highly recommend that you Google for a Disability Advcoate for your area. Give them a ring and see if they can either help you or point you in the right direction.

I am pretty sure they will be able to help you with your ESA form and may be able to point you in the right direction for the ex servicemen site.

Please would you let us know how you get on?  I really hope that you can find someone to help you.

Wishing you much less pain and much more peace

Lu xx

So sorry to read your post.  As an ex serviceman have you been in touch with SSAFA? I hate that when the drugs you need are refused because of expense.  Iknewthis would start happening as soon as GP's opted to be in charge of their own budgets as we now get the cheapest version of meds they can get away with instead of those that would suit us best.  As Lu says if I said what I really thought I would be barred from the forum as well.  I have even known people move house to where they know they local NHS is more generous with their treatments.  It is supposed to be a national health service where all people are equal. I do hope you get the help you need.x

Thank you, it is people like you and the other respondent which makes me think that people like you and them are the reasons I fought, not this country,  but for the beautiful people. After all a mountain, a lake, a beautiful land a waterfall will always be, but what makes me think I have lived and breathed and been lucky to have been a live, in particular time, a place is the human interaction. You can be a in fancy pants place, with the best wine, food, most beautiful place, yet be in the loneliest place on the planet, yet you can be with genuine people and that transcends all the superfluous illusion and realise people and all life per say is the most precious thing. Funny when you have gone to uphold or do the govts bidding when they will not go themselves nor subject their children to and when you come back with PSTD, and disability they subject you to a big stick with little carrot. There claims for lunch and cleaning their moats, with the 2nd homes, to them are worth more than the lives and limbs of us peasants they perceive to be collateral damage.

Like the others I have to refrain from saying what I would like to say, as its against the rules to swear or discuss politics or religion.

Having said that, I want to thank you for fighting for our country, and I am so sorry that you have been left with such horrible injuries for doing so.

I truly hope that you get the right treatments and medication that you need, and in my humble opinion, there should never have been any questions about you getting the help that you need.

Disability Rights UK have very good fact sheets on how to fill in forms for DWP and have all the latest changes to the rules and regulations. You can google their website.

I wish you lots of luck in finding the help that you need, and in getting the help that you deserve.

Best Wishes.

GP. 😊😊
