Magnesium-which one is the best?
Hi everyone, I haven't posted for a long time, but commented on posts here and there....and read all daily. I wonder if anyone could give me some advice re: magnesium supplement... I bought my last one from Holland&Barrett and it was magnesium oxide, I have read somewhere it is the most inferior type

Fibro flare + teeth grinding
Hi everyone, any helpful advice/solution for severe teeth grinding and clenching? I tried different types of nightguards and botox and the situation didn't improve significantly. I am in the middle of a Fibro flare-up, and grinding got worse since yesterday and it is causing me horrendous headaches

BMB results
Just had a call from specialist nurse to say bmb results were in and they showed more fibrosis than the last one 6 months ago, but not full blown myleofibrosis, more likely pre mf. They’re going to send me a leaflet about it with all symptoms so I can see if I’ve got any. I’ll get an appointment to see

Epigastric pain
Hi all I’m getting a dull pain in my epigastric region, that’s kind of the area just below your heart in the centre. I’ve had it for sometime how and mentioned it to the cardiologist but they don’t seem bothered as it isn’t directly my heart, even thought it started after my CABG. Im starting to wonder

Levothyroxine and iron prescription
hi everyone, Just been told I’ve got low iron by the dr from my bloods and was looking online that you can’t take levo and iron together and they have to be taken on an empty stomach. Please can someone confirm is this is correct? Thank you for your help.

Nerves ‘nicked’ during bmb
I’ve spoken to haematology this morning as I’ve been having such a lot of pain since my bmb last week. I’ve only got to try to turn over in bed and it’s like being poked with red hot needles! Anyway the nurse I spoke to said it sounded like nerves had been ‘caught’ when they did the procedure, followed

Back, Shoulder, Knee & Hand Joint Pain.
Hi, I had an X-Ray on both of my hands last April which confirmed I had Osteoarthritis in all of the joints in both of my hands. I have had shoulder pain in both of my shoulders for many years as my job is working on a computer. I started to have lower back pain in 2020 and always had pain in one knee

PMR – A newly diagnosed story so far
Warning – This is a bit long and you may find it boring! I wanted to share my recent experiences as someone who has only recently begun the PMR experience. I am a 55 year old man who shouldn’t get Polymyalgia….right?? When my pain began late in 2022 I had no idea what it might be and put off going

Adrenals or Not Adrenals
Well, further to my post last week, I've had the results of both my faecal occult blood test (for new re-occurring digestive issues) and BNP blood test (for indications of heart failure) and all have come back normal with no further action required. The extreme fatigue has improved significantly

Iron panel results
In early Sept my ferritin came back: 25.9 (10-291) so I asked for an iron panel. I am a bit confused by the transferrin result as I have read that if low iron then transferrin should be high? Mine is below range. Oct 22: Ferritin: 28.9 (10-291) Iron serum: 13.7 (9-30.4) Transferrin: 2.42 (2.5

Is it all about the range?
Hi everyone I was just reading up on thyroid globulin antibodies as I had a test done by Medichecks in Aug 2022 which had me within normal range and I was wondering whether people without thyroid problems had these antibodies too.
Thyroid Globulin Antibodies (TgAb) 48IU/L (reference <115)

Constipation ....
Sooooo, while there are some things which are considered "unmentionable", they are often the things where a chat can be very helpful. Many of us are on heavy pain medications, most of which cause constipation. Personally, I can go eight days and end up with nausea and stomach pain. Yes, I have tried

Hello everyone. My long awaited appointment at the gp surgery finally arrived and I was seen by a somewhat inexperienced health care assistant who suggested I drink a glass of tonic water before bed to help with my RLS! When I tried to explain my research, this forum and the Mayo Clinic algorithm
