Dystonia ?
Recently this has been added to my ( Portfolio )😱 of medical problems . Two bad falls last year resulted in my neck being twisted . A referral to a Consultant has resulted in Botox injections to see if any difference could be made . A warning of side effects most importantly difficulty in swallowing

Post op back home after segmentectomy
The strong painkillers post surgery sent me loopy. I imagined I’d got Covid, would be isolated & may never see family again. I’m now down to just 4 hourly paracetamol. Histology results due early next week. Feeling v emotional.

Mental health, struggling with pain
I was diagnosed with endometriosis a year ago after having an ultrasound scan. The gynaecologist basically told me there was nothing they could do to help and I should just take painkillers when I need them. For the last few months I have been in constant pain so I have taken ibuprofen and paracetamol

TEVA Medications - not just a Thyroid issue?
Hi, this is just a general observation... I know some people on here have trouble with TEVA Levothyroxine products and recently I had knee replacement surgery. I was given codeine and paracetamol as painkillers for the two nights in hospital. Despite the 4 maximum doses I was given through the day/night

Any exercise useful for endo pain?
Hey all! My endometriosis is flaring up again after just 2 years from surgery, and I am trying to not go back into bingeing on painkillers - or at least to stop at paracetamol and ibuprofen for a while. I was wondering - do you know of any exercise (such as yoga) that’s worked for your pain? Any help

Flu vaccine side effects
I usually feel "not too good" for a few days after my annual flu jab. I think that, if you do get some reaction to the vaccine, it is a good indication that the vaccine will give you good immunity. I had my jab (Influensa Vaccination) yesterday. As I am on Apixaban anti-coagulant, I cannot take anti-inflammataries

Random flares - what painkillers really work?
I’ve had RA since 1998 and suffered quite a lot of joint damage in the early years, but since biologics came along, my life was transformed.I belong to a walking group, love gardening and cycle whenever we can find safe routes. Very occasionally I have flares which usually get better after a day or

Co-codamol side effects
Hi all, has anyone had any experience taking Co-codamol please? I've been prescribed these tablets for a knee problem but I've never used any other pain killers apart from paracetamol before. I just wanted to check if anyone had found any heart related reactions... Thanks.

GRAVES and CONFUSED
Hi. Thanks for looking and advice. I’ve been unwell this week. Monday night had a light sore throat. Tuesday a very sore throat at work and thought I had flu. Tuesday night in ED. Temp was 37.8. I’d had 14 paracetamol tablets that day. Very sore throat and unwell. Nose was green. Heart went off for 2

New and new meds too
Hello I have recently found your site and have posted a few comments. I would love to get some feedback on the new to me combination of Etoricoxib 60mg and Nefopam 30mg as I’m having several undesirable side-effects, notably lack of sleep which never helps anyone suffering with pain. I’m only three days

IVF and unexpected challenges
When I started the IVF journey, I knew things could not be smooth but also, I couldn’t imagine such ride. While waiting for the clinic to reopen me and my husband decided to start a new cycle in a private clinic. After we did all the genetic tests (both) and prothrombin profile (for myself) I started

Suspect mast cell disorder - who to ask my GP to refer to?
Hi everyone, I joined health unlocked initially to discuss my recent vitamin B12 deficiency which is not being treated in accordance with the NICE guidelines but suspect it is associated with the varied health problems I have had over the last few years. I have the holy grail of a telephone appointment

Is paracetamol ok to be taken with Rivaroxaban
I have now got a recurrence of bursitis in my hip. It’s really painful so I’ve been taking paracetamol, but feeling a bit strange. Last time I had this I wasn’t on Rivaroxaban, so wondered if anyone else has felt weird. Bit breathless and extremely tired, and just not right. Thanks.

Propranolol and aches & pains
Hi all, glad to see you are still doing great work answering problems! Early this year I had the worst Graves flare I've had in the 7 years since I was diagnosed, seems likely from your replies that it was triggered by a distressing episode with a builder who trashed my house and caused me months of

Paiñful knee
I have had painful knee for over a week and decided to phone dr for painkillers. Suddenlyb painful overnight . Not hot ,swollen or inflamed . She thought arthritis and suggested para cetamol , heat or ice. Para cetamol had never done anything for me painwise. So she suggested Ibuprofen or voltarol

Really struggling at the moment
UPDATE: ran 5k this morning. Been eating main meal at midday and light snack at 5 and slept better. Fingers crossed Monday’s appointment helps sort something else though. I was so pleased to get my hip working properly and pain free again and I thought I would be out there running 3-4 times a week

Retuximab.
Hi ,I think the disposable masks may be easier to tolerate.Remember to drink plenty of water before you go and also during your infusion.Take 2 paracetamol before you go.Have you got something good to read and maybe take a little blanket in case you feel cold.Do the hospital provide some lunch or do
