Dealing with a flare
Had got down to 3mg Pred in mid December 2021 but had a flare and had to go back to 10 (8 would not do the trick) . 10mg relieved most of my pain/stiffness miraculously as usual, just some mild pain across my upper back. I planned to stay on 10mg for a week/10 days and then reduce back to 5mg and start

Doing OK then a positive Covid test clouded the issue
I posted about 2 weeks ago headed "Overshot I think" while tapering from 3.5 to 3mg. I decided to add 5mg which I did for 5 days and then dropped back to 4mg. I also did the neck stretching exercises and heat treatment for the neck problems I mentioned following links from PMRPro and they certainly

Is it normal that after 2 weeks with covid symptoms I started to have a bad pain to my ribs on both sides
No cough only temperature and extreme fatigue but today I have this bad pain to my ribs if I push myself to cough. What it can be, chest infection ? I took more inhalers 4 times a day, Fostair 100 ml Paracetamol and I changed it to Lemsip 4 times a day. Please help thank you so much.

33 weeks & cramping
Hi ladies, I’m almost 33 weeks with twins and I’ve been awake since 2am with period like cramps - focused around my lower pelvic area along to the right. I’ve taken paracetamol, had a light walk around my bedroom, constantly checked for any bleeding (as I have placenta previa) and watching for movements

Hi everyone. Does anyone take these painkillers together. I have been prescribed Zapain 30/500 . two tablets at night, but in the daytime to take one Zapain and one paracetamol 500. I understand that Zapain is a generic, has anyone found it inferior to the Co-Codamol. Thank you to everyone who

alternative to tablets
My mother was diagnosed yesterday with MPN (ET) She has been told that the only option is ‘big’ tablets . She has stomach problems and cannot even tolerate paracetamol. She asked can they be crushed - no , she has asked if they do smaller tablets that she could take more of - no. She is 83, recently

Has PMR Returned
My overactive cousin just updated me of his 2021. He was then on 3mgs of prednisolone. Suffers a stroke, straight into hospital, they operate and clean up a main artery which no doubt saves his life. Three days he is back home and has a review with his current new Doctor. Who points out that using Prednisolone

Can paracetamol help when pred doesn't?
I have had neck ache for about a month now. I assumed it was a flare because my crp on 24 Dec was 27. I was advised to increase pred from 3mg to 5mg for 2 weeks. Crp went down to 26 and neck ache was still there. I posted about this on the forum and it was suggested I increase to 10mg for a couple of

Hi everyone, I had terrible pain in my left hip and down the thigh to just above knee last week and was worried in case it was to do with my hip replacement. However on Sunday I noticed a crop of lumpy red spots on my hip which were itchy. Called the surgery Monday morning and got a call back from GP

Overshot I think!
I was doing well with the DSNS taper from 4 to 3.5mg at the end of the year (Nov/Dec), even stopping at one point then re-starting when I was not sure of a few niggles. Read a lot on here about Myofascial Pain Syndrome which seemed to fit with my stiff neck, predominantly on the left side which started
