Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions to help with constant headaches? I’m 24 weeks and have been getting headaches nearly everyday and I had one yesterday and I’ve had 3 lots of paracetamol and still got a banging headache! I rang the antenatal triage and they advised to carry on taking paracetamol every 4 hours, and to maybe get my eyes tested, as eye sight can change during pregnancy, but that doesn’t help me currently 😅
Any suggestions on anything I can do to ease my headaches?
Thanks in Advance!

I spoke to midwife today, she didn’t seem to think it was an issue, just to keep taking tablets. I did think the same about blood pressure, which was why I called them, but she didn’t seem worried about it.
I would say lots of water and paracetamol every 4 hours and see how you feel in the morning and if it's no better phone again. I suffer from migraines so I know how tough it is, hope you feel better soon xx
I had loads of headaches during pregnancy, that are a nightmare! Drink as much water as you can! You’re not meant to have caffeine during pregnancy but I found a little bit (green tea) did help. Also lots of sleep and make sure you’re resting your eyes often enough. Hope they stop soon for you!!xxx
oh headaches can be a nightmare! In my case it took 2 weeks, every day and I've tried not to take paracetamol but used daily as my midwife recommended.
I'm actually working from home and using my laptop all day and after that watching a TV while knitting so I thought it might be my eyes getting tired and causing the headaches to worsen.
I've switched my evening activity to listening audiobooks eyes closed and drank a little more water each day. Plus when I felt like it's coming I've made myself a tiny cup of coffee. Also started to wear a beanie or a warm hat when I go out for a walk as I realised cold winds were not helping.
These tricks might work if they think you have no major issues but it's just a common headache. Which I hope it is and hope you feel better in no time.
Brilliant, thank you, definitely worth trying anything different! I work in a nursery so not a lot of screen time, but plenty of noisy children! Might just be one of those things but, still would like to try anything I can!
Hi!I suffer from migraines and had them in pregnancy too. I was referred and the doctor prescribed a daily small dose of aspirin to prevent migraines.
Anyway what has been always working for me is ice packs on my head, while staying in bed. Would suggest giving it a try!
Also make sure you drink enough as dehydration can trigger headaches. I don’t drink tea or coffee too and avoid gluten as they would be a trigger for me.
Thank you for the reply, and suggestions! I will keep these in mind, and I will contact my gp if it continues as it’s not an ideal thing to deal with, I have suffered with migraines in the past but came off the pill which stopped then happening, so I’m thinking it may be to do with hormones potentially 🤷🏻♀️
I will try anything right now though, so thank you!
