Another Knee.
Hello, male (yes!) aged 73 with typical PMR since Jan 2015. (Also frustrated Brass Band player) Never managed to get below 6mg Prednisolone, that keeps me OK mostly, only side effect is very thin skin. I have a knee like other posts, swells up and is extremely painful, affecting life badly - Paracetamol

Pfizer vaccine, pred and paracetamol
I got a call today from GP offering vaccination tomorrow. Yay! I recall I’m meant to continue pred as normal but I was wondering about paracetamol which I’ve been taking for a few days (operation on hand last Thursday, plaster off today and it’s a bit painful). Any thoughts about what I should do

Advice gratefully received. Dysphasia, b12 deficiency,
Hi guys, If anyone can help or advise I'd be very grateful. No official diagnosis yet other than dysphasia. I was eating kale and spinach almost every day, until my S&L therapist told me I could no longer eat leafy, flaky, crumbly, crispy, lumpy foods. My daily diet varies between levels 4 and level

Why a few side effects after your Covid jab are actually a good thing!
A sore arm, headache, fatigue, nausea, dizzy spells, aching joints and sore muscles. These are the common side-effects reported by some of the 15 million NHS patients to get their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, as well as the 500,000 or so who have had their scheduled second dose. My pelvic pain story: still on the journey to a diagnosis and feeling discouraged
I am 30 years old and I’ve been experiencing severe pelvic pain almost since I began menstruating 17 years ago. Prescription NSAIDs, first doled out to me some time in my mid-teens, have outlasted more than one romantic relationship and several friendships as a constant presence in my life. By 19, mefenamic

To Hell and back plus custard creams and tea
Hi to all my ABI friends! It’s been an interesting year for me, as a retired 71-year old I thought I had experienced most of life’s ups and downs. But No …..I started with auto-immune encephalitis seizures in March 2020. Wondering why I had not appeared one morning, my wife found me naked

Treatment?
Hi everyone, I’m new here, diagnosed only a few month back but I am noticing on this forum that just about everyone has been offered some form of treatment. I’m based in the UK and was offered some paracetamol for the pain and told that they wouldn’t want to do surgery just yet... all in all was a 15min

Pfizer Vaccine
Hello. I’ve not posted for a while and tend to just read others posts. I just wanted to say I had the Pfizer Vaccine yesterday afternoon (I live in North Wales). I called the health board and booked my own appointment at the mass vaccination centre. My upper arm is sore today but no headaches/shivers

The importance of vitamin B6 against Parkinson's. The end of a meaningless prejudice since 1975.

Gallstone Help
Hi everyone. Was diagnosed with gallstones and a kidney stone a few months ago. had a few severe attacks from March to January. I had my first consultation cancelled for January due to covid. I thought I would be ok to wait until this pandemic is all over if I control my diet. I’ve lost nearly 4 stone

Child proton pump inhibitor use may increase asthma risk.
To our knowledge, this is the first study to evaluate the relationship between PPI use and the subsequent risk of asthma. We identified a significant risk of asthma among patients using PPIs when compared to the non-PPI population after matching by propensity score and adjusting for age, gender, comorbidities

I’m quite new to this site
I was interested to hear other peoples advice on meds. I’ve been taking tramadol for years and bupernorphine patches. I have now gone on pregabalin 150 3 times a day but don’t find them much good. I read from others that I should take them every day which I’ve not been doing, so I’ll try your advice
