How we Cope with Our Conditions

I personally have 19 conditions, I have 5 arthritis or rheumatic conditions, so I suffer from constant pain throughout my body, which differs from day today. I have chest pain from osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, chest infections & heart condition.

I also suffer from pain in my toes, ankles, knees, hips, back, shoulders, neck, arms, wrists hands & fingers, not all at the same time, one day it might be just my back, or feet & legs, or neck & shoulders or arms & hands, so it varies from day today.

I suffer from asthma so have breathing problems, I am also a daft guy that smokes so suffer from chest infections about 4-5 times a year.

I have occasional seizures through my heart condition in the past month I have had 3.

I also suffer from IBS & enlarged prostrate so extra pain in the lower stomach area.

How do I cope, well some days I don’t & spend the day in bed, I take the prescribed medication also extra pain killers in form of paracetamol & anadin extra (one of each when required), I use volterol emugel rubbed into the painful areas, the problem I have is when my carers are not around unable to reach some painful areas I can’t reach.

Through all this causes stress & depression.

Hello, yes it’s very hard sometimes to keep our chins up when we are in pain most days, I do find now weather is turning cold it aggravates the aches/pains so not wanting to go far and keep warm. You do have alot to contend with , many of the members here do seem to have multiple conditions along side their fibro(as if that’s not enough) glad you do have carers to come in and keep an eye on you especially with the current situation we are living through at the moment. Have you any family nearby that can be in your Covid bubble as they call it?? .
