Allergic / nocturnal asthma
Hello, hope everyone is doing ok. I have a question to people who have difficulties sleeping and getting woken up at night. I've had fairly mild / standard asthma since a child. I'm quite healthy, fine with exercise and have a good peak flow, but over the last few years since reaching my 30s, I've started

Diabetes & Insulin Resistant - Are you Insulin resistant ?
Diabetes is not just an issue of blood sugar , it is a complex metabolic disorder causing a host of complications. If we understand it well, we can have a better control and even we may be able to reverse it if we treat it holistically with change in various aspects of our life style... Insulin Resistance

14 year old son constipation
My son is 14 and is autistic. He is constantly pooing small amounts at a time. He is on Cosmocol as he has constipation. He leaks as well in his pants. He was disimpacted on the advice of bowel nurse. He had 4 sachets and it made him sick and he was unwell in it. Although it did seem to do the job.

Diagnosis by Exclusion?
I have Diverticular, diagnosed by colonoscopy, but also extreme bowel habits. Tried Laxido, Movicol, Loperamide etc etc but as they don't work immediately, it's hard to self medicate, Virtually housebound, look like I'm 9 months pregnant and often in pain. Is this IBS as other things have been ruled

Cream instead of potatoes
Following on from my previous post about cream: https://healthunlocked.com/lchf-diet/posts/144145897/is-cream-a-good-lchf-food-as-part-of-a-balanced-diet I have been eating four jacket potatoes a day as a cost-effective way to keep my weight up. Double cream can be as cheap as £2/600ml (Waitrose)...

Here we go!
Just had a call from a locum doctor from our surgery as I'd asked for a replacement inhaler. She started by saying that I was overdue a medication review (basically surgery only offers telephone diagnosis) so we could do it over the 'phone. Did I have a blood pressure reader and a peak flow meter? If

Asthma nurse, long term medication
Hi all hope you’re doing well. Been for my first appointment with the asthma nurse to check inhaler technique etc, she was very nice. The way she way talking was that she classed me as having a diagnosis of asthma and asked about symptoms/triggers. She read that the gp had suspected it a few weeks ago

Can certain food effect breathing?? Weird flutter feeling
Since Monday afternoon I have been getting palpitations/flutters in my chest and throat. More so when I lay down, peak flow and oxygen was ok. Some people say certain foods a cause this, it’s really hard to describe the feeling. Almost like there is a butterfly flying around my chest and in my throat

Feeling low after time in hospital
Evening all, I came out of hospital a week ago after 5 days in with asthma exacerbation and unidentified infection. I've got a nebuliser on loan for a few weeks and was needing fewer nebs day by day, until Sunday when they started going up again (and peak flow down). I was supposed to have a follow

Pains in upper back
I have been having slight pain in my upper back and front of my chest, but other wise feel well. I have been taking more of my ventolin as finding chest feeling a bit tight, checked my peak flow and that's fine. Unable to get in touch with Dr's as they have problems with staff and covid.

Is Gluten Sensitivity causing your Fibro?
Hi, I wondered if anyone has ever suspected NCGS (Non-Coeliac Gluten Sensitivity) as the cause, or as A cause, of their Fibro. Mine has flared up recently, after I've been on a much healthier diet than I have in years, and I'm baffled by this. Why would I get sorer and tireder while IMPROVING my diet
