Low carb and over medicated?
I’ve been trying a low carb diet for the last 8 weeks and have lost about 6kilos but I’ve started feeling slightly shaky/anxious with more rapid mood swings, exhaustion and the odd palpitation. I’m waiting on the results of my blood test, but has anyone else noticed this on low carb? Could I now be over

6 Months+ of Asthma Issues
Hi all, This is something of a ramble, but I feel like I'm at the end of my tether. At the end of May I had several severe asthma attacks and I still don't feel right over half a year later. In the immediate aftermath of the attacks, I was given prednisone to help get the inflammation down and since

How much does mucus affect peak flow?
I was getting 350, then a bit later I cleared some mucus, I then got 400. It seems like mucus is making my readings worse. Seems like it could mess with tracking it. Do you disregard reading like that? This happens to me a lot. Thanks

Lung Stiffness
My peak flow hasn't changed, and I dont have any chest tightness or any other asthma-y symptoms, but I've noticed over the last few days whenever I'm taking my inhalers my lungs feel stiff and sore on the inhale. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Its more of a discomfort than anything

New to asthma at 38... struggling
Just been diagnosed with asthma by the nurse after 3 months of issues.. Shortness of breath, wheezing and cough. New to this to be honest and I’m finding it quite a challenge to adapt to. I’m 38. Had first proper attack about 3 weeks ago, went to A&E they sent me away with steroids. Did peak flow over

LCHF guide for newbies
While we often point people in the direction of DietDoctor, a lot of newbies have asked over the years "Where's the diet plan?". After months of procrastination (and throwing a whole bunch of waffle into the Recycle Bin) I've put together a short document which I think does the job. It's modelled on

Nutrition - What do I eat ? Well -You are what you eat !
This question keeps coming up every now and then ! So I decided to come out with this post for reference of all members. Nutrition is a simple subject though we human beings have made it complex... We eat food to live ...but the type of food we eat varies depending upon our traditions, Religion, Culture

Asthma slow onset and atypical - getting help
Hi, I have the sort of asthma that doesn't fit the norm in that I don't weeze. I get breathless from doing things like walking but when I sit down it tends to go away after awhile. Last month I had a hell of an experience trying to get help for my worsening asthma symptoms. Part of the problem is covid

Do you supposed to feel anything for CKD? And what are the symptoms?
Hello everyone I found out I have CKD in the last October with 1.48 creatinine, I met a very unhelpful doctor who just told me to have a
low

diet
, and I didn't know what it was so I had to go online googled, then I found out CKD patients shouldn't eat high potassium, high phosphorus, high sodium

Metastatic breast cancer patients - what's your diet? Do you have any examples of actual recipes to make?
I've read a LOT on the best type of diets - I have my mom (diagnosed in the fall of 2018, bone-only mets) on a plant-based diet, no dairy, no gluten, and low carb. We're having difficulty actually finding recipes and new things to make, so wanted to know if any of you could point me towards some resources

Keeping crackers fresh
Hi all, I'm new here. Had a heart attack in April and consequently decided to reduce my weight (14st7lbs, BMI 30). I went from not eating much, to low carb (but consuming oats like I was told to), to LCHF without grains about 10 days ago. I'm down to 12st, BMI 25, plan to drop another stone or so. My

Peak flow tracking
Hi all I must admit to not tracking my peak flow unless I think my asthma is getting worse. What is the gold standard for doing this correctly?
