Recent resp. Appointment - new meds
Just wanted to update some of you on my recent app (should have been in April, thanks covid 🙄) So my blood test done in March showed my eosinophilic count had dropped to 0!!!! This is the best news ever! And the lowest it has ever been! And overall I’ve felt so much better during the shielding process

Seeking a salt substitute
Since I went on a low sodium diet due to heart failure and kidney disease, I have been searching for a salt substitute that I like, while avoiding anything with chemical content. I have tried Mrs. Dash table blend, etc., and it's okay but not real satisfactory for me. The best so far appears to be

HELP!
HELP! I'm very new to PMR! Following my initial diagnosis in December 2019 I was prescribed 30mg of Prednisone. Within a couple of days I was feeling great. My rheumatologist began tapering after 2 months and although the pain returned at 10mg (during lockdown) he continued to cut it down to 0. He did

TSH is rising
Hello-increased my dose of levo to 125mg during lockdown after Endo said TSH fine at 0.72. but symptoms had worsened. Didn’t accept that I am a poor convertor. Just had TSH repeated by new Endo (refused to repeat T3 and T4 blood test) and despite the increase in levo my TSH has increased to just over

TPO and TG antibodies reduced after 6 weeks of LDN
Hey everyone, Just thought some people here would be interested in knowing this. I started taking low-dose naltrexone back on 6th July (6 weeks ago). I had a blood test on the same day before taking the first dose to test my antibodies before starting LDN: TPO: 180 (<34) TG: 433 (<115) Yesterday I

Should Coeliac UK be shut down?
This is a contentious question, but it needs asking. From a lot of posts on here, and personal experience, it seems that Coeliac UK are not very upfront about the fact that 'gluten free' foods carrying their mark of approval or listed on their food list are actually making/keeping people with coeliac

Does Low carb have to be Keto??
Hi , I am finding the path of low carb always seems to lead to keto. If I want to eat some carbs, how do I then get the balance right with the fats? If carbs and high fat are a disaster, how exactly do you get the balance of low carbs and fat? Can anyone advise me please?

Low carb diet
Hi all, first time on here 😀 I’m currently on a low carb diet eating around 30g of carbs a day. I’ve been on the diet since the second week of March and have lost over 3 stone. I still have at least another stone and half to lose. Is it healthy for me to stay on this level of carbs or should I be thinking

Father’s Day Dinner: Cobb Salad 🥗
This is what I had for dinner tonight delivered/sent by brother and his family for Father’s Day. It’s a Cobb Salad (Gluten Free version). I added a gluten free chunky blue cheese Greek yogurt dressing. The rolls are gluten free, as well and I have one leftover for tomorrow. I had a Greek yogurt on

My hbA1c was 5.7 3 months ago and now it's 5.3. I lost 17kgs.. Please guide me as I want to build muscles
Hello folks. On March 1st, I went through a routine test and found out my hba1c was 5.7 for the first time in my life with a grade 2 fatty liver and no doubt that was the result of my 2 years of overeating (binge eating) and drinking beers. Then, I went on a very low carb. diet. It was almost a 800

Asthma hit me out of the blue
Hello to everyone at A UK I joined Health Unlocked some time ago because I suffered from Polymyalgia Rheumatica and needed advice. It's a nasty auto immune condition that can be managed with steroids. I am one of the lucky people to make a recovery after 2 years. Now, I'm getting on happily with life

Hormone imbalance and LCHF
I’ve been looking at recommendations around balancing hormones. Protein at every meal is mentioned every time. Interesting. Are there any good links out there that anyone has come across?

New Here and Glad I’ve found this Group – Anyone done Proton Therapy?
Intro Info – I’m 66 relatively good health, obviously gay. During a routine physical I had a slightly elevated PSA score of 4.3 so my primary care doctor recommended me to a Urologist. After some discussion we decided to do a biopsy. The result from the 12 cores was not what I wanted to hear. I was hoping
