Asthma advice
Hi I had coronavirus mid October and subsequently had issues with my asthma - tight chest, breathlessness, a weird ruttle / flutter when I breathe. I've had my medication changed to 1 x fostair 100 in the morning and montelukast in the evening to clear the cough/mucus. My peak flow is still around 350

Covid and o2 sats
Tested positive for covid. Not been too good but I think I might be over the worst. We shall see. Cant get my oxygen sat levels above 92 but dont feel wheezy. But chest is heavy. Peak flow well down too, usually 400 now 284 or there about. Should I be talking to dr again. On oral steroids for one more

OMAD or IF
After some advice, I have been following LCHF and doing OMAD Mon-Fri and IF at the weekend, although sometimes I still do OMAD, if I'm really busy. I am now finding that Mon morning my weight is up by 3-4 lbs, it does go down again by the weekend. This has now happened the last 3 weeks and I am not sure

LCHF ADVICE
Hi, I’m currently vegan but i’m thinking of doing a LCHF vegan diet as i eat around 150 grams of carbs a day. I’ve noticed that carbs just make me feel bloated and not great. On LCHF how many grams of carbs a day is acceptable? 20? 30? I’d find it difficult to do any lower than 30 due to my love of fruit

Swings in peak flow between pm to am
Hi! I’m just wondering if there was any reason for me have such swings in my peak flow between from morning to the night. So for eg in the morning it’s around 340 then at night it’s around 420 . I am more symptomatic in the morning & know it is normal for it to be lower in am to pm, but should it be

A bit fed up
In the context of a global pandemic I probably shouldn’t grumble, but I’m a bit down after a phone consultation with my gp this morning. My asthma was diagnosed as severe after a nasty chest infection and (mild) pneumonia around Christmas 2019. Since then I’ve accumulated medications - now on Fostair

In focus: diet - sugar and carbohydrates
There are several different ‘low-carb’ diet programmes, and one that we are sometimes asked about is the ‘ketogenic
diet
,’ which is high in fat, moderate in
protein

Coming off BP tablets
For the past 10 years or so, I have been prescribed various medications for hypertension, with varying degrees of success. Most recently I was taking 100mg Losartan and 2.5mg Indapamide. Just over two years ago, I felt a large mass in my abdomen, which was found to be a simple large renal cyst. Last

Admins and Lchf
I find it a bit concerning personally that Admins are suggesting LCHF in their welcome posts to new members - perhaps as admistrators of the forum you should let people make their own mind up, so as to avoid forcing one diet on any new person who arrives? That's not to say that any member who has found

Asthma flaring for no reason?
Hi everyone, After several false starts, I finally got my asthma under control in the autumn with twice-daily symbicort (4 puffs of the 200/6 dose) and daily montelukast (10 mg). I went from needing my reliever multiple times a day to 1-2 times a week, and in early December I managed a 21-day streak

Feeling bad, peak flow gets lower each time
Hey all I've always been told to take the highest peak flow reading. However my 1st puff is always high and as it should (350), 2nd 300 and 3rd 250. After I feel awful and tight chested. Also often accompanied by a wheeze. Anyone else experience this?

My Cardiologist says I don't carry any Heart Risk.....this is the magic of whole plant food..
In continuation to my previous posts I am pleased to post my hsCRP , which is less than 0.1, it is supposed to be the root cause of inflammation of the Endothelial..my Heart ..... Based upon my lipid numbers, extremely low hsCRP, my BP readings and my BMI, my Cardiologist & Endocrinologist have given

So..... you have asthma!
I hope most of this is not new to most people (and so apologies for probably boring you senseless 😅). But there seem to be quite a number of people new to asthma (hi and welcome to HU!) who haven't been told the basics and for whom proper monitoring and care is not happening. Also I know of people who

Hey everyone. I joined here a few weeks ago having been diagnosed with angina. I have obviously had cardiac problems building up over the years but I've been asymptomatic (as far as I am aware). Following a CT scan and an angiogram (both of which were great, the medics and staff all brilliant) I need

Very low TSH. Dr wants to reduce thyroxine.
I feel like crying and don’t know what to do. My Dr asked me to do a routine blood test to repeat my prescription. The results were; TSH 0.14 FT4 20 Vitamin D 57. N nmol/L less than 75nmol/L is insufficient I have been taking 3000iu of vit D a day for the last 3 months yet my vit D is still insufficient

Questions for the RO for my upcoming video conference regarding options for early salvage treatment (and ADT) after Radical Prostatectomy?
I had my radical prostatectomy (RP) on 6/3/2019. Given my pathological results (see below for details) and the definite trend in my PSA levels over the last 18 months (see graph below), my surgeon now thinks I should pursue early salvage radiation therapy and I agree, but now trying to decide on the
