My favorite snack is zucchini chips. I slice thin toss in olive oil with garlic powder and put single layer on a cookie sheet at 325 degrees for 2 -3 hours. Just depends on how thick they are sliced and how crispy you want them. Great by themselv s or with a low carb creamy dip.

I'll try not to make this a woe is me post lol but I'm really needing some advice. Long story short - naff doctor has insisted for years my thyroid is fine and all my symptoms are down to Narcolepsy and fibro (which they could be) so I took a private blood test which came back as my thyroid at 5.7 and

Went from Stage 3 to Stage 5 in 2 years - low protein diet?
I was first diagnosed with CKD in August 2006. I noticed blood in my urine and went to an urgent care and they sent me immediately to the ER. My BP at the ER was 260/140. The doctor in the ER tried to lower my BP too fast and I passed out and almost went into a seizure. I was in the hospital for a week

The LCHF Kitchen
As explained in the first article, there are at least two stages of an
LCHF
-based
diet
plan: induction and maintenance. For those with a weight-loss goal, as opposed to general heath concerns, there’s a weight-loss phase in the middle.

Actemra update
I haven't written or even read much on here for a while. There was a perfect storm, coming from all directions, for a depression to set in. I was completely dysfunctional, any little thing made me cry or rage and I could not concentrate on anything. I'm better now, I've talked myself out of the depression

LOW CARB EATING TO HELP UNWANTED PBC SYMPTOMS!
Today I've started a low carb way of eating, initially cutting out all beige foods, as TV doctor recommended, ie: not eating rice, bread, potatoes, cake, biscuits or any processed sugar, and cutting out dried fruit and high-sugar fruit. I'm determined to give it a 2-week start to see if it helps with

Low Carb
Shortly after joining this site, I met someone that gave me great advice for a low carb diet. I then saw the documentary, The Magic Pill on Netflix and decided to go for it. It took some time but my refrigerator is now stocked with all the good stuff. :) What’s funny is, I’m already starting to feel

Dickensian gruel and a medium lettuce leaf ... Hard Times indeed
I posted a reply to Lin-Calif this morning extolling the virtues of low carb - my doctor phoned just now with the good news I've reduced my HbA1c level from 54 to 49, she will 'unlabel' me as Type 2 at 48.. hooray! BUT, says dear Doctor, my potassium level is increasing so here we go again, researching

Gluten 'hangover' recovery time
Two days ago went out to eat and broke my gluten-free diet BIG time. Today I feel awful-physically and mentally. Endo just raised my levo dose also last week so this might be adding to my self-inflicted misery. When am I going to feel better from this really bad gluten-filled day? I feel really stupid
