Hi I'm new to the site. I had a heart attack last Aug 2017 & had 2 stents fitted to LAD. I was put on the list to attend cardio rehab programme and was told I would get a invite letter with date which I did. Unfortunately I had to go back into hospital 4 weeks later so was unable to begin rehab. I kept ringing for another date which I eventually received to start after Christmas only then for it to be cancelled because the nurse/instructor had left. Does anyone know if I would still be able to attend or have I left it too late. I'm doing gentle home bicycle exercises and am on a low carb diet as I've been diagnosed with fatty liver disease and so far since February have lost 1 1/2 stone in weight. I find I still get short of breath and sometimes get pain between the shoulder blades which has lessened since I started my diet but am able to walk around my village with rests in between.

Cardio Rehab
Pester, pester, pester. The cardiac rehab is vital to recovery. Surgeons save our lives, but the rehab team give us our lives back. See my post a short time ago in reply to someone else.
Hi Mary. I'm attending rehab at the moment and it's the only thing at the moment keeping me sane. I was barred for a month as I was passing out in class but started back on Friday and it certainly lifted my spirits. I too had 2 stents in February after a heart attack. My advice is phone them and get yourself there. The fact they are watching you there gives you the impetus to push yourself knowing help is at hand if needed. Invaluable
Your GP or doctor /surgeon/hospital usually have to refer u but u should still be able to get onto a cardiac Rehabilitation program.
