Hi Michael, yes you can change your life. Get a dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution book. He's been a diabetic one since he was just a boy and he's in his 80s now. He is on a low-carb diet all the time and he has a thriving diabetic patient practice. Click on the link above and then you can do some research. You can get the book on eBay to or Amazon best of luck Mary

Once a month he has a radio broadcast seminar, you can click on one of the links in the link above and listen to him

Hello Michael. It sounds like you are running quite high. Going for a walk & exercise will help. Keep hydrated & good luck from a T1 since England WON the world cup.

michael are you being treated as type 1 or type 2?

if the pancreatitis is affecting your ability to produce insulin then it may be that you also need to use insulin.

Pancreatitis doesn't always mean damage to the beta cells.

which is why the second statement starts with an if.

Your D has been complicated by the pancreatitis. What's the status of your endogenous inulin production ? But too many drugs won't help. Your diet management has to be tricky because you lack enzymes which digest proteins.

Wish you gud luk.

Hi Michael

I've been on the lowcarb program for 5 weeks now and it has already improved my blood glucose levels and I've lost weight even though I'm not active (other health conditions).

I haven't gone very low carb, ie under 50g, as I'm fine on 80-90g a day.

The programme is run by Diabetes UK, based on good research. It does cost a one-off fee to join (for life) unless you only go for the basics, but it can be 'prescribed' in England.
