Hi i posted some weeks ago that i was concerned that my blood sugar readings on my blood monitor was reading as high as 17 or 18 first thing in the morning after fasting. I have put myself on a low carb diet cutting out potatoes, rice, pasta and bread and i took my blood glucose after a break and was pleased to see that it was down to 6.5. I know that is normal range yet but i am in my way. Plus I have lost around 8lbs in weight too. So i am convinced that low carb is the way ahead for me.

Low carb is working well for me too.Told three months ago that I had type 2diabetes a bolt out of the blue!Decided to cut out carbs no bread ,rice ,pasta ,potatoes or cakes and biscuits. My H1BAC was 52 now down to 42 so a little more time and I hope to get it down to normal .I'm on the 5 week diabetes education course recommended by my gp which has been really good, I highly recommend it to anyone newly diagnosed, using a brilliant book which lists all foods and their carb content it's really not too difficult once your in the swing of things.Good luck!
