Knee replacement and taking Prolia
I’m sure your doctors will tell you the answer to this and if they don’t then you need to ask them. I hope it goes well.
Hi Miggy. There is a Bone Health forum on HU too. If you go to the Search box top right of the page and type Bone Health, then on the next page click on Communities, then scroll down to Bone Health and click on Join, you will be able to post your question there but Kitty is right in that you should ask your doctor or Orthopaedic surgeon or nurse. Good luck with the op. x
Hi Miggy2014,
We do have an article on the NRAS website aimed at those living with RA who are faced with the prospect of this surgery which you may find useful: nras.org.uk/resource/knee-r....
Our National Patient Champion and charity founder Ailsa Bosworth also wrote about her experiences of this operation which can be found here: nras.org.uk/resource/knee-r....
As others in the community have suggested, it is definitely worth discussing you concerns around your medications and the surgery with a healthcare professional such as your surgeon or prescribing physician.
Likewise, you can search on HealthUnlocked for communities with relevant experience of the conditions, medications and medical procedures by using the search bar in the top right of the website and then selecting "communities" instead of posts.
I hope this helps.
All the best,
Hannah - NRAS
