Massive flare after 2 years
I was diagnosed in 2022 and started on 12.5 mg pred which the rheumatologist said was the lowest starting point. I had immediate relief. I quickly reduced to 10mg and everything was still fine. After 6 to 9 months I started to gradually reduce and currently I’m on 4mg. There is other stuff going on

Assistant Dogs.
I searched google a few years ago about assistant dogs because I thought I need one of them, but I got nowhere. Today I saw a demonstration of an assistant dog at work, it brought me to tears because it showed me just how much I do need one, how good , helpful it would be. I really think it would

New developing drug LEVI-4 for Osteoarthritis
Interesting article in The Times a few days ago about a new drug to reduce the effects of Osteoarthritis and avoid surgery. The hope is that this could also be used for RA. https://www.thetimes.com/article/b637efce-c492-4388-ad4d-88053df7eb11?shareToken=584beb0befea5e9d438df47623099f83 The drug is

Knee Effusion (Water on Knee) from PMR?
My knees started feeling quite painful shortly after the PMR started. I assumed it was part of PMR until my Rheumatologist said a few months ago she didn't think it was. The knee pain has increased more than the PMR pains as prednisone has been tapered. (I'm on the "75% less pain than untreated is

Hydrotherapy pool?
Hi. I'm lucky enough to be going on a cruise, as I can't fly now as it causes too much pain, and there is a hydrotherapy pool which I can pay for. Do any of you have any opinions after using this type of pool? I'm thinking of using it the day after travelling to the ship. I have RA and osteoarthritis

Erosive Arthritis and Vasculitis
Hi, just wanted to know if anyone out there with vasculitis GPA, is experiencing erosive arthritis in their hands? I have over the last year experienced a lot of pain in my hands and have a growth on one of my fingers, which is apparently a soft tissue swelling. I just wanted to know if this is something

GP visit
Hi there. I've had PMR/GCA for 10 years which once diagnosed was reasonably managed until 2018 when having tapered to 3.5 mgs, I was told to stop Pred within a fortnight by my rheumatologist who was confident it had gone. The resulting flare was worse even than the initial onset and after a good deal

PMR flare or not…
morning all I really don’t know what to do atm. I did a slow taper down to 2.5mg Pred and at the same time I thought I’d pulled my knee doing an exercise class as my knee swelled up & felt very sore (about 6 weeks ago this started) The GP thought it was arthritis but the physio she referred me
