Inflammatory arthritis & pulmonary embolisms?
After years of x-rays on multiple joints (looking for osteoarthritis) & countless blood tests (looking for rheumatoid factor) - all of which returned negative results - I was finally diagnosed with Seronegative Inflammatory Arthritis in January. My Rheumatologist first tried methotrexate and then leflunomide

waiting for allergy test
I have been waiting for a allergy test for 2 years so my specialist can prescribe medication for psoriasis arthritis. Has any one else had the same problem.

Views on Injectable Treatment Formats
Being diagnosed with a long-term condition such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA) means that many decisions need to be made during your treatment pathway, particularly about the range of options that are available to you. We’re in the process of developing a survey looking into perceptions around the use

scleritis and rheumatoid arthritis
hi I have had rheumatoid arthritis for five years and scleritis for 1.5 years. I recently started imraldi(bio similar to humira), in feb 2024, after building antibodies to cimzia. since then I have noted small improvements in my joints but my eyes continue to be in a constant flare. Any suggestions

Diet and arthritis
Hi I was diagnosed with PMR in December 2019. I have tried to taper the steroids down but have never got below 2/3 mg a day. Last year I had a particularly trying time with considerable fatigue and very painful mouth ulcers. Slightly at the end of my tether I was given a book called Diet and Arthritis

Secondary Hypothyroidism…anyone?
I’m trying to build information for an upcoming appointment with my rheumatologist and have discovered from recent blood tests that I may have secondary hypothyroidism (my symptoms certainly fit). I know there is a link between Methotrexate usage and secondary hypothyroidism. Does anyone have this diagnosis

RA overlap just diagnosed. Who else? Tips?
I have had PBC since 2009. I have just been diagnosed with overlap rheumatoid arthritis. UGH! I know some of you have too. Would appreciate any tips. Unfortunately for me because of both PBC and the fact I am allergic to sulpha the list of medications is small. Starting with hydroxicholriquine.

I was started on Sulfasalazine and worked my way up to 4 pills a day. I didn't have any side effects really and after

Arthritic knee, back and anticoagulants
My husband has recently developed AF and has until now used Piroxicam gel for arthritic flareups in his knee and back. This supplements his morphine patch as and when necessary for bad pain. Morphine helps with nerve and tendon pain from his back injury but the arthritic pain pushes through. As he

foot support
Can't blame this on pmr but getting lower on pred has made it more apparent. I have arthritis in big toe and the joint seems to have flattened. Gp has suggested support insole for under the toe joint, but have been flummoxed looking at t'interweb options. Can anyone recommend something suitable, please

Seronegative RA with OA in the Lumbar and Cervical Spine
I have a diagnosis of Seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis with underlying Osteoarthritis in the lumbar and cervical spine. My question is one of exercise - The GP has made a referral to Physiotherapy - I'm expecting that this will take a while for an appointment to come through, in the meantime I'd love

Muscle pain relief through thyroid meds
I have a torn cartilage and osteoarthritis in my left hip. At night I have pain in my hip and back but after I take my T4 and T3 tablets the pain dissipates. Has anyone else experienced this? Or have any ideas about the mechanisms involved? Thanks in advance.

Psoriatic Arthritis?
I've just seen my rheumatologist (who I like very much) and her feeling is that I have Psoriatic Arthritis and not PMR. The reasoning is that - even though I have no psoriasis on my skin - I had bad swelling and pain in my knees and hips when I first went to see her about 2 months ago. However, the

Women’s Health in RA survey
A Rheumatology Registrar with an interest in women's health has developed a survey as part of their PhD which explores what RA patients want from future research on rheumatoid arthritis in relation to women's health issues such as pregnancy, periods and the menopause.
