Looking for rheumatologist leads in the U.S. (especially within 100 miles of zip code 12583)
I realize this is a UK-based forum, but I see there are some folks here who are U.S.-based like myself. I'm looking for leads for good U.S. rheumatologists. I had an 11-month run of prednisone that was a straight-downwards taper despite return of symptoms, contrary to what I've since learned from

The Salt Room ...
Hi Everyone, thought I would tell you about what has happened to me over the last couple of days. I have been travelling quite well on 6 mgs of pred and tocilizumab jabs weekly and some girlfriends invited me to come along with them to “The Salt Room”. It sounded fab, described as a cure for all sorts

Orencia - Infusion or Self-Injection
Hi, I’m a newbie with Rheumatoid Arthritis. My Rheumatologist wants me to stop Plaquenil and go on a biologic. She suggests Orencia. Would appreciate hearing from fellow RA warriors who have taken Orencia (or other biologic) and if so, in what form - infusion or injection. Advice, please! Thanks!

Hi everyone
Was just wondering if you can take pregnenolone as this is supposed to help with arthritis or DHEA whilst on thyroxine. I am menopausal at the moment and read that these are the natural way and can help instead of HRT

Bad Flare when I thought it was over
I got down to 0 after 4 years but pain continued to grow. I was on 2 mg and my ra felt it was just osteoarthritis and said add tylenol. Big mistake I want no one to repeat. My pain was so severe I ended up in the ER for many hours on heavy drugs before it stopped my suffering. Listen to your body not

Hydroxychloroquine Rash
Hi. I’ve been on hydroxychloroquine for 2 weeks (400mg a day). This weekend I’ve developed a red symmetrical rash on the same parts of both feet (top) and both elbows. Patch’s of red raised skin with a defined edge and itchy. I’m wondering if it’s a reaction to the hydroxychloroquine or something else

ADVICE PLEASE
I have both PMR and sero negative inflammatory Arthritis as well as OsteoArthritis in knee. At the beginning of May Hydroxycloroquine was cut from 400 g to 200 g and in early June I decreased Pred to 7.5/7/6.5 on a 3-day cycle. Since then I have had pain in my hips, thighs, calves and knee especially

Just diagnosed
I had a phone consolation with my GP this morning, she has been amazing and so helpful over the last few months. I’d had all the blood tests done before COVID which ruled out various conditions and although there was nothing in my bloods to suggest rheumatoid arthritis there is a family history of it

No medication
So I finished my meeting with the endo, she said my symptoms were mainly due to anxiety and depression and so she prescribed me Cipralex (Lexapro). She said as I was subclinical, if she were to prescribe me with thyroid medication, it will make my anxiety worse. I have another meeting with her in 2
