Hi everyone hope you are all doing ok. I've got the most horrendous painful shins, I keep getting cramp behind my shins bones (not in my calf muscles) which is impeding on my sleep and walking . I have fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. Any ideas, is it a fibromyalgia thing? Xx

Hi Diane

I too have fibromyalgia & osteoarthritis & suffer with shin pain. I would say the shin pain is fibro as I’ve had X-rays & there was no arthritis found in my shins unlike other joints in my body which are arthritis. The pain with fibro is different to joint pain.

I use the knee supports on my shins you can buy from Boots which help & take Naproxen when the pain is bad.

Hope this helps

Angela 🤗

Thankyou for your reply. It's a new pain so I wasn't sure if it was my fibro or not. Thankyou for your advice x

Hi sweetie dianebrown707🤗I get shin and calf supports. You can get ones with shin splints. There comfy till bedtime 🌙. And I get them from Amazon.

Sounds like what my husband calls shin splints - common with atheletes he uses compression leggings by a brand called skins and finds them really helpful... so maybe try compression leggings or socks? I get a burning sensations in my legs... feels a bit like inflammation but of course if you have fybro you don't have inflammation.. they won't however, tell me what it is, as that would be too helpful LOL!

Hi, it would be worth checking that your vitamin D levels are good, as shin pain can also be a D deficiency symptom.

Presumably you were quite low then? You may like to add some magnesium and some K2 if not already using those. And the mag may help with the fibro too, did for me anyway!
